anybody tried those les claypool basses?

they kinda remind me of alembic...

I've never even seen one in real life except at a primus show.

The bass made of walnut, curly maple, padauk, purple heart, ebony and cocobolo?

thanx for the link... wow, those things are hell expensive... i wonder why they arent mentioned as much as alembic or fodera?

because Carl thompson makes like three instruments each year... They are not mentioned much because they are quirky in appearance and a lot less available than Alembics and Fedoras...

i hope CT would still be there when i have enough time and money to get one of his basses...

"quirky and rare" are very good words for me.

If you're into ritters, check out Ritter Royals....they're pretty much the only basses I can think of offhand that could be honestly described as 'money no object' type basses.
