This is a song a liked for a very long time, and that, unfortunatelly, is unknown to so many people. When I finally bought the Cat People OST, I found out that the song sounded too eighties for my taste. But, still, a great song (Bowie Rocks even in the eighties). Then I decided do record it, more rockishly.
The Fretless parts (slightly out of tune, but I hope to improve someday) were played with my Eko, and the rest is the V8 Tumb.
I hope you enjoy it! (In fact, I just hope someone hears it)

really nice tone btw.I remember the song well.It's a kick arse tune alright.I like your version.
 
It's a tough song to pull off. I 'd like a better tone from the guitar and the voice is a bit shaky and uncertain at times, but like I
said that's some tough stuff to pull off vocally. I don't like the song very much and considering that I think it's a pretty damn
good effort you did, good stuff. Btw, upon reading your thread's title I actually thought your house caught fire or something
and you tried putting it out with your bass. That would make a very expensive and ineffective fire extinguisher... :)

 
Well, the voice is what I liked the most... but I will look up onto it! About the guitars, except for the solo, everything was played on a Morris Acoustic Guitar (hehehe, I like to experiment). Thanks for the input!
 
With the voice work on the first part mostly (the first couple of minutes). The second part is pretty damn good.

 
Yeah, too low, it is the thoughest part.
 
I 'm trying to figure out why you 're losing control of your voice at low volume, when singing loud you have good control. Intuitively
one would think that singing louder has more potential for mishaps, but come to think of it, singing with too little volume can do that
too. I 'd suggest for the first part to actually sing louder, but not too loud to ruin the voice's effect on the song. In the voice's low
register (also high register), it's tougher to bring out volume and be clear, so you do have to try. :)

This voice vibrato (or is it too fast to be called tremolo?) is pretty tough, few singers can do that well, but when they do I
really enjoy it. Morrissey comes to mind here. Incidentally, today I came across a band called Puressence, I had only heard
of these guys, and their singer does that awesomely (he also has a relatively high pitched voice).

Have a listen, it's an awesome song too. (heavy on the strings which is kind of unusual for good rock music ;) )

The mix is not final, I'm having some trouble with the MacBook, after the new OS, which left me a little bit lost on mix and master.
Planning to redo the low register voice next weekend...
