I have never seen a EBMM that wasn't made of ash.

hell, they all pretty heavy basses and poplar and alder are quite light. Do they use alder and poplar on solid finished Stingray and sterling?

EDIT: Just did a small research and apparently on the EBMM forums, 90%+ of the times it is ash, but poplar, alder, basswood were also used on bodies on rare occasions.

ACtually my poplar MM was heavier than ash ones I tried... It seems they used ash for natural basses, and God Knows what for solid color ones. But they have a good database, and they can tell you each bass what is made of.

What is a tone block???

A tone block is a piece of tonewood running from the end of the neck, to the bridge, with the pickups & bridge attatched to it.
Tone blocks are common in semi-hollow body instruments, as well as solid bodied.
It basically does what it's name suggests.
An inlaid block to enhance tone.
EBMM utilized a mahogany tone block in one of their anniversary basses to enhance it's tonal properties.
