pro tube ix question

i maybe able to get my hands on a used pro tube ix at a very reasonable price. I have heard loads of things about the speaker outputs (stereo, bi-amp etc). Just wondering if any one can shed some light on it for me?

Basically it's a stereo amplifier. Very good sound, and very nice controls for the EQ.
 
Well, i just won this on ebay, got it for about half the price of a Tubepath 10.1. My only question now is; whats the best speaker cab config to run with this amp. I guess that to get the most power out of it i would have to run a 4ohm load on each channel, but the thought of moving 4 cabs around, sounds a bit of a nightmare. Any suggestions?
 
Hey mate,you could run 4 ohms cabs instead of 8 ohms.Just a thought. :)

Thats a very good idea, why didnt i think of that. Do you know if they make a 4ohm version of the pro 115 cab?

I bought a 411 Pro in 4 ohms but the 115 cab comes only in 8 ohms.I'd email Oliver about it,he'll be able to find out.

Well the amp has arrived :) havnt had a chance to play it yet, but had to just turn it on the check out the glowing blue 'W'

Gonna try it at the weekend with my existing cab setup, then think about buying a 4x10.
 
I got my hands on one used a few months back and I love it. The only thing I'd recommend is a simple footswitch for channel switching and you're all set.
 
i played my first gig with the new amp last nite. bought a new WCA 411 PRO to run it thru, it sounded amazing. The bass players in the other bands we played with used it too.... They were very impressed with its sound. It was good to hear someone else playing thru it. In fact it was the first time i had heard a really good bass tone at the venue.

Cant wait to try it with my 115 cab too.

I also got to use my 'new' '98 wenge necked corvette, it sounded sweet.
 
Yeah I bet it was good.Warwick amps make a Warwick bass sound nice,& loud.
 
I had one, but it was faulty so I got a tubepath 5.1

The only complaint is that it weighted a ton in my rack, it also packed more functions and was more versatile.

Both are great amps and sound so good, great gear, congratulations ;)

yeah its heavy, one of my friends was helping to pack up my gear after a gig, when he lifted it of the top of my cab he nearly dropped it..... thought it was gonna be the same as my profet. LOL!
