Prince 5 string thumb fretless

I have asked Bass Centre for some more detailed pics of any damage - which I will post.

I would ask a friend who works in London at Sound Control to check it out if I decide I want it.

My only fear is that I have never really played fretless before and this would have to serve as a back up gigging bass, which could prove interesting

matey - I will be curious to know what you find out...

I've already got a fretless, but another wouldn't hurt...

If I get any info/pics back I'll let you have a copy (assuming I don't decide to buy it myself!)

Tell you what guys...

I have a lottery ticket for saturday. If I win I buy it, and if I don't win, one of you buys it, is that a fair deal?

I'm not sure if that is cracking of the finish, it almost looks like someone drew on the back in marker then tried (unsuccessfully) to remove it. I wonder what's under the black and silver duct tape though.

It's in the spot where the battery compartment once was,so maybe the tape's holding it together, which is no biggy. The logo on the back looks like it's just been spary painted over the finish & is wearing off.Maybe some cut & polish will take care of it.
I just hope one of guys buys it.Having Princes DNA on it makes the bass at least 10% cooler.

Well, I didn't win the lottery, so one of you, get it! :)

Bassoctopus, looking forward to your additionnal info!

well, bassoctopus is stepping down, so Lex it's up to you, man, get it! GET IT!!!

I have loads of (average) pictures of the bass that I sent to Lex. I will post them if he doesn't decide to buy it. :)

I'm still thinking about it...

I'm not 100% sold

Our guitarist said he knows the previous owner. I'm seeing him tonight - I will update if I get details.

It's not in the best condition.

I would love to know if there are any more details.

I agree, the condition is not good, and apparently there have been some 'mods' done to the bass that I don't have details about...

My opinion from the photos was that you would need to view it to make a decision.

Yeah exactly. To be honest, I'm not really into buying what has been described as a 'museum piece'. I really like the look/style of the bass, could probably have the CS build one from scratch and end up saving money and having a better product at the end of it.

Fair enough...

Personally, (and that's just me...) if i hand the money, I'd be swimming across the english channel as we speak to get it... :P

I'm crazy stupid like that... :P
