Hey guys

Thought I'd drop back after doing a bit of research. I'm considering doing a pickup and preamp upgrade to my '05 4 string Streamer LX.

At this point I'm considering getting Nordstrand pickups and dropping an NP4 for the neck Precision pickup and a NJ4SE for the bridge Jazz pickup. I'm also considering different preamps at the moment, with an Audere being the first choice. I can't decide between the 3ZB or the Classic though.

Anyway, I'm really just opening this thread up to anyone who's done upgrades like this to their Warwick, and how they turned out. Discuss guys, I'm really curious!

Bugger, just realised I accidentally posted it in the wrong window and it went to the wrong forum part. Can one of the mods move it please? Cheers

I dont actually own this bass, but im deffinetly will be intriged by what soem of the other forumers will say.

First things first, what Sound are you looking for? More mids? bass? what music style do you play, because that will help us suggest Pickups/preamps for you.

I know Nordstrand do great pickups but there might be somthing better or cheaper for you.

Or you might not even have to change anything, maybe different EQ or strings is the answer!

So yeah tell us what sound your looking for! (sorry for the waffle!)

Oh yeah, completely forgot to actually include that.

I play in a rock/heavy rock band, and I'm basically looking for something that stands out, growls and cuts through the mix just a tad more than the streamer does. I'm gonna be trying out some EQ suggestions that I found on here (try boosting 400Hz/4kHz to bring out the growl). Don't get me wrong, I love my Streamer, but sometimes I get the feeling it's just a little more tame than it could be.

I'm pretty set on the Nordstrands, and I honestly don't mind paying a bit more for them since they have such high regard (plus I had a mate who put some in his Thumb...*drool*), but I am open to suggestions!

By the way, anyone reading this, you don't have to be shy if you did mods to say, a Thumb or a Vampyre or something. I want to know about everyone's experiences, not just with the Streamers.

Have you heard of Dimarzio's? i put them in my Jazz bass which im using now, they sound nice! put lots of extra growl in there man! but still that might be still tame for you!
