Hey guys Thought I'd drop back after doing a bit of research. I'm considering doing a pickup and preamp upgrade to my '05 4 string Streamer LX. At this point I'm considering getting Nordstrand pickups and dropping an NP4 for the neck Precision pickup and a NJ4SE for the bridge Jazz pickup...

I used to own a warwick corvette and a fortress and played them through a nemesis 4x10 amp, sounded great. Now I am in the market for another amp having sold that and picking up a Thumb Bass 4 NT. I am looking for a combo amp 2x10. Looking at Gallien-Krueger Backline 210 Ashdown MAG...

In case anyone can appreciate this.... I have decided NOT to spend money on a Rockbass and amp but instead I will save up enough money for a used Thumb NT 4 string. I figure, since I have wanted a Thumb since about 1993 I should just save up for one. This will probably take a few months...

G'day everyone was wondering if anyone could give me a brand, model and type of strings that are good for mellow reggae n jazz right through to slap funk bright strings. I'm thinking of just getting two sets: some mellow ones and some bright ones but yeah. cheers :)

Wondering if any of these would be possible to do... A wenge body? Bubinga, Ovangkol, or Wenge body with an Ebony top? Just wondering... I really like a very hifi sounding bass with ALOT of mids and pop to it... And not much a fan of the lighter woods like maple, alder, or ash.
