Played A Warwick For The First Time Today!

My Dad said he will help me save up for my warwick and he said I might get it for christmas! :)

Saw my first Wicks (Thumb NT 4 and Dolphin Pro) in Guitar Center in Santa Ana, California, circa 1989ish... Fell made in love with that Thumb! Couldn't want a guitar more, but ended up getting an Ibanez SR400 instead. (The Thumb was $5000, the Ibanez was $350, so...).

Years and a couple other basses later I finally stumpled, by chance, upon a beat up Thumb BO 5 string in a local music shop. Bought it, fixed her up, and couldn't be much happier with a bass guitar. I still want that Thumb NT4, but I love the BO 5!

Good luck with saving up! I hope your x-mas proves out!

I played my first wick (a Thumb NT) in a local shop about 15 years before I could afford one. After years of gradually improving my gear. I went from Fernandez, Ibanez, Fender, Chris Larkin, Fender again, Rickenbacker to a mighty Thumb NT which I already sold because I only play my Dolphin nowadays.

So stick around, a Warwick will come along sometime. It is written in the stars.

I saw Warwick when I am 15, it is a Thumb NT 4, the most beautiful bass I ever see, I got my first Warick when I am 17 or 18, it is a Thumb 5 NT from Canada to Taiwan, my friend bring it to me, my father paid for it~~~~

When I first time saw the Thumb NT 4, they ask for US$3000....I thought I will never own one, my used Thumb 5 is US$1400, you will always buy a used one, I got 5 Wariwcks now, all used, the most expensive one is Thumb NT 6, about US$3000~

just save some money, you will always got what you want!!

Thanks dad~~

Try to get a used one if you can. I did, and I was just as happy as I would've been with a new one.

Good luck! and welcome to the family

Warwicks sure are great instruments, I saw corvette first time when I was 8 or 9 and was like "Whoa that looks and sounds good" Well at 15 I had the money went to store and saw W on headstock was like !!!!!!!!!!!!! slided hand on neck for 10 seconds and gave money to shopkeeper. Played 10 hours in row that night :) Corvette is the love of my life.
Ohh RB corvette fretless should arrive next week too :D

Welcome Matty!

Of all the Warwick's you could have come across by accident, an LX4 and Thumb BO4 are two of the absolute best. You've stumbled upon what many of us consider two of the classic, definitive examples of what Warwick does best. Glad you liked them :)

Cheers, Mike
