Piezo problem!

I've just finished adjusting the truss rod, bridge, saddles and nut on my bass, and now the E-string will barely register and distorts beyond belief when run only on the piezo pickup! Does the string have to sit a specific way on the saddle to make it work or what? And it's not a battery problem as I just changed that and the $$'s work fine...

Anyone got a clue?

Is it possible that the piezo element changed position while doing all the bridge adjustments? From what I've seen, the piezo elements are 'floating' and rely on pressure from bridge saddles/string tension to stay in place. I'd guess that if it did move, it moved toward the G string end.

It seems that the string has to covers more of the piezo... I just raised the bridge and that seems to have sovled it... Now I just have to figure out how to get rid of the rattling that has caused to the string... :?
But it's good to mess around with the setup so I'll be able to fix it in the future. I'm simply to caring about my bass to let any repairman fix it, there's no way that they can be as careful as I am!
