Pickup adjustment poll

Is it just me or are other people have issues with the threaded brass inserts that the pickups screw into poppinng out. I am amazed by the design and construction of this instrument but this one little "flaw" is driving me crazy! So far I have had to repair three of these bad boys in the last two years. If it were me building these bases I would use threaded "Nut Certs". These have wood threads on the outside and machine threads on the inside. Instead of pressing the brass inserts in the "Nut Cert" would be screwed into the body, thus eliminating the problem. If there are enough people out there with this problem, maybe Warwick would take a look at it. If not I will load up on the CA glue and toothpicks.....
 
My PU's are fine but the straplocks require toothpicks and glue. Sucks...
 
I've never had a problem with them... And I take my bass apart ALOT!
 
Never had a problem with them either, or Straplocks. Hell, every Warwick I've touched has been an absolute Angel.

I hit deep enough to contunally unscrew the bridge pickup screws, completely by accident. Luckily I'm aware of it and can remedy the situation!
 
yea, my back pickup often comes out mid song and i have to try and screw it back while still playing.
and also my straplocks arent as firm as i would like, it hasnt come out yet though. but its just a matter of time.

and way to fix these?
 
Never had this problem,

but that doesn't mean that the original design cannot be improved. It only has to happen once to think why on earth it's designed this way............... :?
 
This problem is not common at all. I get many service and support requests every day and this one is not very common. This is actually the second time in my life that I hear about this.

I live in Colorado and was "chalking it" up to wood shrinkage anyway, just wanted to make sure, there wasn't a larger issue.

ive not had my warwick long so i cant really comment but all the screws on my bass are fine. no problems
 
In the first year of owning my main bass (see avatar) I had this happen to 5 out of the 8 ferrules; drove me mad! Really easy fix with superglue (they haven't budged in the last 13 years) but has never happened to any of my other Warwicks. I put it down to the fact that this particular bass has a 3 piece Maple laminate neck (no Wenge or other stringers) and the ferrules weren't holding as well in the Maple as they were in the Wenge/laminate necks of the other basses. The pups also rested on a pair of springs between the pup body and the bottom of the pup route as opposed to springs threaded onto the pup height adjustment screws.

TBH I wouldn't change a thing about the system... though I did install slightly beefier springs to increase the tension against my hand/finger pressure.
