Peg Height on d-tuner?

I’ve been meaning to post this question/comment for a while now…just getting around to it.

I installed a Hipshot extender on my Corvette $$ and was perplexed by the difference in the height of the tuning peg vs. the tuners that came on the bass. Is there a reason for this? Did I buy the wrong one?

Mine are like that as well. It is because the Warwick headstock is thicker than the other manufacturers. I've come to deal with it, just sucks 'cause the e-string is fat!

Yeah...it is a bit of a pain in the arse! I've heard of some people putting these d-tuners on B strings...can't imagine trying to wind that onto such a stubby peg!

I think part of the reason it's short is the detuner mounting plate is adding to the thickness of the headstock.

excellent point - though i can't imagine why they didn't compensate for it!
