Hi. I have a Peavey Tour 450 at the moment and am soon getting 2 Warwick Neo 1x12' to go with it. I have played the Tour 450 through them and it sounds great. I saw the Xtreme 5.1 and had a quick go with that through the same setup - wow! So many tonal options.

The problem is I don't know which one I prefer;

Peavey:
Sounded louder than the Warwick at 4 ohms, even though it was 50 watts less
Peavey have a reputation for reliability
Easy to use and great rock tone

Warwick:
Loads of tonal options
Compressor (Peavey dosen't have one - not that I need it!)
A bit lighter than the Peavey

So which is better? Bear in mind the Xtreme is double the price. And how many watts does the Xtreme give into 8 ohms?

Thanks.

I can't speak for the Tubepath, but the Xtreme 5.1 is a beast! Through a 4x10 you'll have plenty of power, low end and growly goodness!
It also has several handy features if you've got two basses (One with high and one with low output.)
There's EQ Balance, which boosts or cuts sound when the EQ is on. Theres a three way boost switch (0db, +2db and +6db)
Ofcourse there's the -10db pad.
These controls are really nice if you have more than one bass.
And one cool feature is the Growl knob! Yes, the xtreme has a knob called "Growl" - Boost it and you boost the mids, you get a mean, hot knife in the mix sound.
I highly advise the Xtreme!

I'm a rock / funk / funkrock player btw =)

Thanks but I'm looking for anyone else who has played both heads. I can do a lot of stuff on my Peavey that I can on the Warwick and my head is half the price yet sounds great. Oh well, I'll be happy with my Peavey for now - well more than happy actually because it's a great amp! Neo rigs FTW.

oh, interesting question... since im also shopping for an amp head :)
