The Dark Lord has nothing on you with its .175! That bass will kill... If you want I'll make an estimate on how tense the string will be (I am a science geek.) :D

Oh right back on topic, my bass is this beauty:


Ibanez K5 (Fieldy signature model). Although I am a Korn fan I mainly bought it as its a 5 string SG with a parametric mid EQ, so its pretty diverse in tone. Its a mahogany body, maple/bubinga neck, rosewood fingerboard.
 
70's Ovation Magnum (4, passive)
80's B.C. Rich Warlock Rave (4, active EMG mod.)
90's Cort Artisan fretless (4, active)
2000 Fender American Jazz Bass (4, passive)
Previously had a Fender Squire II precision bass (4, passive) and a Ibanez Ergodyne (4, active)
 
I have got to get a Webshots acount or something similar.

77 Rickenbacker 4001 (Fireglo)
Washburn B5 (refitted with an EMG)
Epiphone Thunderbird
MusicMan SUB, now discontinued

All 4 stringers.
 
I don't have any pictures, but my oher basses are:

- Yamaha BB404 (Black)
- Yamaha BB405 (Natural) <----- The 5-string version

They don't get much playing anymore other than messing about in my room, due to my favourite thing in the world at the moment (my Corvette)
 
I own Fender highway jazzbass:D But its going to have some mods on it. Im going to make a new finish on the body and make the neck fretless:D

Cort Artisan A4 (mojoed :D ) and Squier Affinity P-Bass
 
Is that middle bass a cort? I'm pretty sure a friend of mine has a near-identical bass, and it really surprised the hell out of me - fantastic value for money!

Pretty cool - got it new for around 699€. Bartolini Humbuckers with 3-way Bartolini electronics.
Flamed maple body + NT neck with Wenge stripes and Rosewood fingerboard.

But if you ask me it lacks a lot of any own character. Imo the sound is rather flat and only shaped by the electronics.
That's why I went for the "Sound of Wood" ;)

Nevertheless it's great to play - thin fast neck and if you want extrem low action. Not using it much by now but I don't want to sell it either *mh* :(

I bought a Cort A4 about a month before I got my Thumb.The Cort was sold pretty quickly after that.The pickups might be Bartolini,& they have a good name but these particular pickups were bland & without any bollocks to speak of.I think if Warwick is the sound of wood,then Cort is the sound between the wood.Light & airy. :lol:

Yeah, i think that's also what i mean.
First of all I really thought the sound was great and got a lot of compliments about it. But after a while I recognized it only worked out somehow because I did massive EQ work and all with a pretty shitty technique. I really played with a lot of force so that every tone was quite "slappy" - just to get anything out of it. Than I went for the Warwick and my both guitar-man were stunned. Couldn't believe how this bass could sound and the first thing one of them said:
"No chance man - NOW you really have to play more solos!"
*lol*

(and my Squier in contrast isn't really THAT bad. Got a nice modell out of the series. Really played other ones afterwards and was shocked how bad they were - mine seems to be much better. Lucky was I buying it without even knowing how to play one note :D )
 
I didnt do any of those mods.. They were done by the guy who gave it to me.
The Pickguard is supposed to be somewhere between a '52 or a '55 P Bass and a Marcus Miller Jazz and thats what he came up with.

That said, I still havent found a more comfortable Jazz to play.
 
I own only one bass, and it's not a W but it sure is a hell of a bass still :) I present to you my '92 Homer Simpson Music Man Stingray 5:

The Homer Simpson part comes from an engraving that it has on the back of the body, a drawing of Homer Simpson showing us his butt; the interesting part is that it's been done in the factory and nobody knows who and why did it, but it is clear that the engraving is UNDER the original blue pearloid lacque and even on the EB forum they admitted it is very probable it was done in the manufacturing process. This makes my bass kind of unique, but besides that the sound is amazing and it makes it my all time favourite bass, at least until now :)
