OT: Some happy snaps during my trip to China

OK.. That's it... Stop taking pictures of food.... The pictures look so good that it made me hungry. Hold on..... there..... with a wok in mind I just called in an order of sweet & sour pork from the local thai food restaurant. (yes, really)

But seriously, again, beautiful pics Eberbachl. Thank you for sharing. I'm enjoying your snaps very much. But tell us, are you encountering any interesting live music. You not, like stuff you really wouldn't have expected.

Anyway, thanks again and I hope you continue to have a wonderful experience.

Hey Randy - unfortunately, live music isn't very prevalent where I am :( I do have a bass here for practice, and I have met some students on campus who have a little band together, so they're invited me to rehearse with them. Hopefully that will happen soon. ;) The bass player in their band has only been playing a few months, and I've agreed to give her a few lessons - should be fun.

I'm in Huangdao - fairly small town - only a couple of million people :D. It's about and hour or so in a cab and ferry to Qingdao. Qingdao has some good live bands - last time I saw a really great cover band from the Phillipines in a western bar. They were really going off - the joint was jumping - and wouldn't you know, the bass player had a Warwick Corvette STD 5 string bass, a Pro FET 5.1 and a WCA 115 Pro cab - miked up into the PA. It sounded fantastic!

I tried really hard to find out if they have a jazz club in Qingdao (it's a big city - +/- 8 million people, but I could only find one called the Jazz Corner from memory. I went, but they only had a DJ that night. I'll try to find out if there's anything else going on.
