XxBassPlayerxX just got the deal of his life with the Corvette, flight case, and a JAN3 for under $700. Like I said, to me the Thumb didnt sound good live, the Vette has a slightly different tambre. Its a very heavy weighted bass and is for younger stronger backs.......and he will like the rock sound if he remembers to EQ his amp first with the B/T on the Vette flat then deal with the bass preamp controls. Dont forget, none of us are stuck with the MEC's that come standard. EMG's, Barts, and Seymores can be installed to give the bass more options for 'that sound' youre looking for.

yeah but there are no "trendy-player" signatures which is what all other brands do...just look at fender with the blink-182 bass or the green day bass...i mean...a signature bass should be something more than a custom color and a sticker

oh god I love that statement. Just look at kirk hammet signature guitar and everyone will understand...

I have to object a little bit if I may. There are many signature basses out there, but most of the players use different instruments from different manufacturers (a total bummer in my opinion). The folks of Metallica have been playing ESP guitars exclusively (I'm not 100% sure about this though) for over 15 years. That is a good reason to give the men their own signature instruments. Indeed, it's just graphics and stickers, but hey, why not ?? Why does it have to be a completely new instrument ?? They show that they don't need a completely new instrument built to their specifications; they play standard instruments (ok, with a different look), which is a great way to promote the company.................. :wink:

nah i'm sorry brother but you're not giving credit to who actually builds the guitars they really play...ever heard about ghostbuilders? (i'm not saying that they're all ghostbuilt, but a lot are)

btw..i've seen metallica live playing gibson explorers/les pauls, jacksons, and lately ESP guitars :wink:

I've read that Slash doesn't play Gibson, but the guitar he's playing (that says Gibson) is built by a luthier named "Max"....................Ghostbuilding.................dude, I dunno who or where on when this stuff happens.................Who knows, maybe Warwicks are being ghostbuilt as well....................ouch............OUCHYYYY !!!!! :shock:
