Hello!
I just got the offer to buy a Corvette STD 4-string 2 x single coil passive.
The bass has been standing unused in a German bunker for ~10 years, thus the wood has not been treated at all. The temperature variations there is +30°C in the summer and -5°C in the winter.
I tried it out tonight when rehearsing with my new band. It sounds like old foul strings, some "nuts and screws" got sign of oxidation and rust but in general the wood looks OK. The strings are a bit high but as far as I can see there's room for both saddle and bridge height adjustments. I assume I can get it in order with minor maintenance and some new strings.
Questions:
The serial No. is D-030066-96. I assume the "96" stands for 1996, right?
What would the approx. value of such bass be?
I'd use it as my 2nd bass as I'm the lucky owner of a Corvette 5er $$ since a couple of days yey...
