Oh my God! I de-fretted my Wick! (Sound clips ADDED!)

Yeah, I think it could be adding a bit of "bite" to the sound. I played it without the epoxy on the neck and it was more woody sounding. After Applying a coat of it, it was a little brighter... After the 3rd coat I did that recording... And I'm on the 4-5 coats right now...

So I'm wondering how the final result will be.

Either way, I like the look of those black line on the wenge :D

lol, Yeah... That's one of the first things that popped into my mind as I was pulling the frets out... It's like pulling teeth, Except I have to be more gentle :P
 
Here ya go guys! More pictures! I'm now polishing up the (fret)board A little more work, Then I'm going to clean up the whole bass and await for Fodera strings :D Then more sound clips!

man!! I still can't believe you did this but as with all your mods... you will pull it off great.

that grain on the fretboard looks awesome.
 
The grain was another reason I did it... I figured as a fretless it would look great... I noticed though after I started polishing it, I have a couple little areas that are lower than the rest... This should be pretty easy to fix with a little super glue though and then polishing it all even.

I figure another day or 2 of work and it will be done... Although I do keep saying that :P

I finished it up lastnight, I'll try to take pictures of it today along with a new sound clip now that I have the Fodera strings on it :D

If I can manage to get the bass under some good lighting conditions, I'll take some good quality pictures :P

wow GREAT JOB! It look like you can land a model plane on that Fretboard!

I plugged into my Markbass rig and ran a cd player through it awhile ago and attempted to play along to some Death (Spirit Crusher) and surprisingly it didn't take much time to adjust to playing a fretless. I can pretty much land the song dead on now even without those pesky speed bumps :P

Now to attempt some Necrophagist....
