Of dire help, here

That company is 30 minutes away from my house. I've wanted to check out gold strings but im finding it hard to even compete with my Foderas...

I've played Fodera's also and I loved them - it's those availability and corrosion issues I have to deal with. They work amazingly well for a Thumb and I'd imagine they'd sparkle on a Proline. And the Optimas don't look pimpy... they actually look like acoustic strings unless the lights are really bright :D even then it's kind of a dull gold colour very much like the frets. The chrome plated ones, now that's a different story. ~M~

If you dont want to wait 3 months you can get the Fodera Diamonds series strings, they're much more readily available than the VW signature set.
Excellent strings I should ad.

I took the advice about Fodera's VW set and ordered one a few days back.

I'm really hoping they don't take 3 months to get. The site I ordered through had an old email address of mine on it that I can't access anymore, so I have no clue as to what's going on. Or how long they'll take.

Anywho, I'm looking forward to these strings. I'm a big fan of unified tension, and they supposedly have it. Plus the fact that Mr. Wooten can slap, tap, and pluck them makes them very appealing for an all-around bass player.

I think next I'll go with the Matt Garrison set and try the EADGC stringing. Very appealing, also.

Thanks for the replies

Good choice. I belive that youll get em faster, they got a shipment in Febuary from the shop in NYC. I got them for christmas, whcih made the wait longer. I really hope you like them, they are really a great product. Fodera puts alot of care in their products.

Have you tried any Smith strings Doc?I've only ever heard them on Smith basses so I have no idea.
