lol i finally gave in and went to my local sound control (quite a big one stretched out over three floors) aannnnnnddd....

not a single warwick. come on its one of the biggest retailers in England of guitars and basses...

Which one were you in?

Our guitarist is a manager with SC and I can send him your feedback :)

Strangely enough Salford is the Warwick centre for Sound Control in the UK, but it is well worth a trip and Colin the manager has always been good with me. I bought my Thumb NT and Trace Elliot off him in 94 :)

nottingham

its probably best they didnt actually because it'd make saving up much more annoying. :D

but yeah i was really surprised i expected them to at least have a vette or something

AFAIK, and I might be wrong. Salford holds most of the Warwick stock for SC in the UK. Other branches can get them from Salford, but you need to be an interested purchaser.

This sucks a bit, but there must be a reason for it - ie they don't sell enough of the beasts to make it worthwhile buying a load of (expensive) stock to populate every store.

You're not that far from Salford and it is well worth a day out. I travelled down from Newcastle to spend an afternoon there and was very well looked after - tea, chat etc. I almost spent £2k on a SS2 V Fretless but luckily I rembered my marriage was more important in the nick of time ;)

I dunno about that... when I was over there in December, I played at the Sound Control stores in Glasgow, Salford, and Birmingham, and they all had Warwicks in stock... Salford obviously had a ton more than the others, but Birmingham had a respectable showing...

I got my Thumb BO from Salford... I thought I might have to try fretted and order a fretless version... but the choice is amazing. Thinking of going back soon to do some more "research"

Sound Control in Derby has a few warwicks and the people there are quite decent too. Havent been there for a while though but they had a few streamers, a thumb BO and a Vette $$ last time i was there.

sound control at derby is great. they know my band pretty well and let us borrow whatever kit we need when something blows/dies just before a gig. gave us a new peavy desk as well to try out a while ago...kept it for about 6 monthes before we brought it back to the shop (then we promtly brought it and walked back out again).

the drummers headmike also died before a gig but all they had was one of those mikes that clip onto your shirt to JR had to do any singing with his chin wedged against this chest  he had to play blind lol

never been in and looked at the basses though i'll pop over some time
