I am playing in a new cover band and we do a complete set unplugged style. I am considering getting an acoustic and the alien is out of my price range. Any suggestions on a decent acoustic for around $600 USD? Michael Kelly Fretless maybe? Takamine maybe? Ibanez? Thanks for any advice...

How about this one

Or,

I am selling my Micahel Kelly Fretless 5 string at th emoment if you are interested! Im looking for roughly 350 (and a bit for shipping). If you are interested, hit me up, if not, no worries.

The only ABG i've ever played that was worth the room it takes up was a Tacoma Thunderchief... and man did it roar...

i have yet to play an acoustic bass that actually works acoustically. Never tried those tacomas though. never enough low end.

I bet it's great but it is also well out or my pricerange :x ...

You might consider Epiphone also, there's a few acoustic/electrics on the Musician's Friend site that are in the 400 to 600 bone range. I have a couple of Epi's. I love them, RockBass quality. That's a compliment BTW.

I remember a topic like this one a while back. I think I remember Ollie saying that, of all things, the fender accoustic electric was the way to go.
Imagine that. :P

I used to have an Epiphone ElCapitan 5 String and it was not bad at all (for the $)

GL in the quest :-)

This a fretless with lines, or does it just sound fretless to me? [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scCxx4fgJwA[/ame] ...

there was a nice takamine acoustic bass in my local guitar shop. i loved it

There is a Fender acoustic that I really like for this kind of situation.
