Hello Warwick enthusiasts,

This is my first post, with some pictures of my beloved 86 NT Thumb. It has suffered some mods by successive owners (jack plug, thumb rest, knobs, Barts, preamp, straps) ... the "scars" of age.
BTW, it plays like a dream, the neck is pretty thin .

I've been playing bass for many years, owned and played several models and brands, but this old WW is really for me the one to keep.

that's one of the few times a thumb rest has looked really good on a warwick i must say! really nice one. battle scarred and beautiful!
 
Really beautiful :D If you polish up the frets it will look like brand new :)
Interesting input jack, is this a regular jack but lockable?

Thumb rest and lockable jack are the oddity of that bass, permanent mods, no choise, I have to love them !

I'm kinda liking those custom knobs.... I might have to reconsider about getting bubinga knobs.
 
Those thumbrests are the most suitable thumbrests I`ve seen so far on a a bass. They blend in, instead of looking like a small lumber.
 
OK, I must tell you my secret, the thumb rest was cutted out of small piece of wood from a floor plank of my bedroom .. I cutted a piece and glued it on the thumb’s body. Done. The colour is pretty close don’t you think ?
I’m not responsible for the locking jack but I find it usefull to keep in place the little transmitter of my wireless system.
 
man that bass loots fantastic :D how does the samson wireless sounds?
 
The instaled preamp is an ARTEC, very compact, very cheap, sounds good, drains very little current.

The Samson works perfectly (no interferences) but I would complain some hiss added to the sound (the hiss is gated when there is no sound). Its convenient on stage but IMHO a cable provides a better sound.

i have had alot of issues with this wireless system, i dont even use it anymore becuase its too risky.

sweet thumb too, looks great.
