New here - decided I NEED a Warwick!!

Hi there
Looks like a great forum here.
I have only just started looking at the Warwick site and *trying* to work out the differences between the many different types of basses. A little confusing to be totally honest, but I heard a another bassist friend of mine play his Streamer 1 at gig and was blown away with the sound.
 
I think you should follow your ears Geddy... Buy that Wick... and join Da Forum !

Depends how much budget you have, if you are willing to go second hand. If you like the Streamer Stage 1, that's certainly not a bad choice. Look out for Streamer Stage II's as well! For Thumbs, IMO, you need to try them first hand. The most popular Warwick model at the moment is the Warwick Corvette $$, try one if you can!
 
Welcome Geddy, try as many Wicks as you can but be ready for a tough choice: they all sound so good!

Welcome.

Out of all the well-distributed bass makers,
Warwick surely has the most widely varied
selection. It's not so much that you NEED a
Wick, as that Wick is bound to have the ax
you NEED. That doen't preclude some other
maker from also making the bass you need,
but no other maker comes to close to the
"one-stop shopping" that Wick offers !

If it turns out that you actually NEED 2 or 3
somewhat different basses, you could wind
up with 2 or 3 different brands unless you
go with Warwick. Not that variety is a bad
thing, just depends on how much variation
vs how much consistency you'd like to have
between differing basses.

OTOH, if you really only NEED one bass then
Warwick VERY likely builds one [or more] to
match your playing style, and then there's
the Warwick Custom Shop !
