Hey everyone i just recently bought my self my first warwick...and im like married to the thing, but its like those relationships like you know the girl but you dont know all about her...so i was asking this about my new warwick corvette $$
1. how should i take care of the finish (specificly)
2. what should i realy do when i change to a lighter gauge of strings
3. and whats a good setting on the bass :D

Hello Bass4God,

Your first question depends on he type of finish of your $$. If its a colored finish, there's no need for you to wax the body, but if it's a natural finish, you should wax it periodically. The waxing process is explained better in the User's Manual, but the basics are to use a clean cloth to apply the wax following the grain of the wood. On the other hand, some people prefer not to wax their necks, but this is up to you.

Your other two questions depend on what kind of setup you want for your instrument. Light gauge means less pressure, which in some cases might need a trussrod adjustment to adpat the neck to the new gauge. Your string height might need to be adjusted too. All these steps are explained in the user's manual and some different setups have been discussed in many other topics before.

If you're referring to eq settings in question 3 - I love the parallel humbucker setting on the $$, with a bias towards the bridge pickup... but half the fun is finding out for yourself - and depends on the music you're playing

Welcome Bass4God. I listen a lot to both of them but my inspiration is still Stanley Clarke and in the beginning it was a friend who is now bass teacher at the Gothenburg Musical Conservatory / mats
 
I think alot of people affected my decision to play bass. I have realised that as a kid the bass is what i always use to listen to.
so players like Nathan East with clapton
Bass player on the Paul Simon Graceland album
Marcus Miller, session work keeps cropping up in my parents record collection!!
when i picked up bass it was Flea and Stu Zender.
now its Jaco and Zender.
getting into the wooten style a bit, but got no time to sit down with it.

Nathan East is a great player and a great guy. I got to see him last year at a Yamaha promotional gig with Chris Minh Doky here in Copenhagen.

Some truth in that - bearing in mind I've always though the bass-player looked cool!

I played tenor sax for years - then realised about 6 years ago that I had a better chance of getting a gig as a bass player - very true. Plus... I refuse to play sax in a section any more... other brass players are weird!

Spot on! My main instruments as pro was bass trombone and bass trumpet, at least there was a "bass" in it :lol:
