Neck relief question

I have a Streamer Lx 5 string. Neck relief is almost 0.4 mm on B string, on G string is less then 0.2 mm. Is that normal ?
 
There's greater tension on the B and E side of the neck, because the strings are thicker, that seems logical to me.

I agree with you, it seems to be a very a logical setup in my opinion.

I'm thinking this is the reason some luthiers install twin truss rods on their wide necked basses so I'd have to agree.

Just be glad you can get your Warwick's action like that, mine looks like a beginner bass in the action, I can't get my trussrod to flatten, it's like it's at it's end in the trussrodliness.

Have you had a pro look at it? I had my old bass setup for $40. Just an idea, might be worth looking into...

My Warwick dealer knows less about Warwicks than I do, the've never heard of a nut that can adjust, I don't trust them.
 
Wow man. I wouldn't trust them either. There's some good information on basic steps on how to setup your Warwick bass in the User Manual that comes with the bass. If you need further help, don't hesitate to contact us.
 
I use the manual, and the trussrod just doesn't go, the action is ok now, but I get a dead spot on the 15-18 frets on my E and A strings which I can fix right now, and I will. It's gotta be in good shape for resale, for a 5 stringer down the road.
 
Ok. I suggest you contact the tech support department at [email protected] or [email protected] and tell them. They might know what could be wrong with it and help you fix the problem. They're always willing to help. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Have you checked your bridge's height?
If you nedd to overdo your trussrod, maybe the problem is elsewhere.

Usually, when it`s like that, the shop will hand the bass over to an external pro. Here in Bodø, the shop will hand it over to this crazy polish bass-pro who set it up after how you want it and what you`re gonna use it for.

Back home, where I bought it, I got 10 fre services/set-ups for free included in the price, and I`ve just used 2 so far.
 
I fixed it myself, the action is still good, but not as low as I'd like, I've already fixed the bridge, I've already adjusted the saddles, and I've adjusted the nut, now, I'm gonna stop buying Ernieball strings, because I hate them.

Although unlikely, it could be neck *angle* in relation to the body.
I am saying unlikely because it's a Warwick, but you never know.
Why don't you visit an experienced set up technician?
It could make your bass much more enjoyable again!

I agree with "unlikely because I own and have own a lot of warwicks. However there might be things that need a luthier to check. I bought my Thumb Ltd 2001 a month ago, brand new, but found that the I couldnt adjust the distance between the string 24th fret and fingerboard any closer than 5 mm so now it´s sleeping in the luthiers workshop and I might end up with some advanced modification. If it wasn't a Ltd version I would have given it back to the shop and asked for a new one but stupied as I am, collecting W basses, I just end up spending more money than is healthy :wink:
 
MY truss rod just doesn't want to flatten, I'll take pics tonight. I'm gonna try taking my strings off, then adjusting, althought it's ok now.
