My Thumb CS idea

Thumb BO 5-string
-Afzelia body
-Wenge neck
-Wenge fingerboard
-Pre'09 standard neck shape (dunno what it's called now)
-$$ PU's in '09 Corvette $$ 5-string position
-Same electronics as the Corvette $$, though with 3-band EQ.
-Gold hardware

I've tried a Corvette $$ and enjoyed the tone it had though not completely satisfied, it was a little "boomy", and the PU's not in the '09 position. I also tried a thumb BO and REALLY enjoyed the shape and balance, but it lacked the lows

So, what do you lads think?

PS: This is not something I am ordering in the near future, just GASing like hell

sounds like a cool project (very cool), but how about a 3band EQ? There is a big difference (at least to my ears)... Also, $$ pup positioning is better sounding IMHO in the new position

very interesting project I have to say. The nasal carac. of afzelia and the 09 pu position will be an interesting match with the warm $$.

Yeah, so I thought, flipper_gv. I want it to sound fat, but also as you say the nasal character of afzelia.

Max: Yeah, 3-band EQ wouldn't be a bad thing. I really like it on my Infinity, I'll add it to the list.
