I'll have audition for a soul-r&b-funk band this week. The guys wanted to hear me play before, though. I made this record - it's a first take, so maybe it's not in time, but at least it's not in tune ;) I know my line is a little bit all over the place, but they wanted it this way, to hear a bit of my 'vocabulary'.
I made some mistakes, so don't be cruel...
The choice of the song is most cliched, but there's some nice chord changes to play over and strings to "talk" with :)

Ohhh the growl! :D

Is it a fretless? It sure sounds like it.

here's another link, with no need to wait.
Thanks guys, I also love the growl. I had the eq flat and pickup balance in the middle. The strings are 3-months old Black Warwick, they just lost this piano-like quality (which I don't particularly like) in sound recently.

Yeah, it's cool hearing this tune with a nice Warwick growl - great job, nice groove and fingerwork!

That tone is sweet! sounds really good the fills fit really well. My only advice would be to have more of when your just holding the groove. You hold it really well, it sounds awesome.. i think you should have a bit with no fills just holding the groove....then switch back just to get some contrast and break up the bass line. If that made sense.

But really cool work!
