my guitarist needs a up grade

hi guys the guitarist in my band needs a up grade we at the moment are a ligt metal band playing pub rock on the side
he has a hollow body guitar and a littel vox amp witch is fine for pub rock but he needs something metal he also has a start kit fender sanded back and were going to put semore dunkens in it but i dont now how that will go
bottom line is he needs a metal guitar and amp but we dont want to sound like ever other metal band so what would match my corvette $$ nt and pro 5.2

are you asking what guitar to get? if thats it, then:

"sounding like every other metal band" has more to do with your songs than the actual guitar sound.

get an ibanez or those used BC Rich NJ's ... and then get a 100 watt B52 solid state amp. the rest is all about your songs and live performance.

It doesn't matter. Unless we're talking about a
Zemetis, or Kramer's Alumi-neck, there's no such
thing as a "Metal" guitar or bass.

Heck, get the kid a Squire Hello Kitty guitar, put
him through some overdriven effects, through an
amp and speaker setup, and presto chango, you've
got a tone suitable for bangin' with the best of 'em.

Hehe.................I've got one (seriously). And it's the pink version too !! Too bad nut spacing is way too narrow.............I need a new guitar for that reason...........

I even put DR coated pink strings* on it................ROAAAARRRRRRRRR !!!!



*holy crap, they loose their coating really fast...........
 
we have a winner and its not hello kitty that would be sick but
we modfide my friends squire sanded it back and put semore dunkens in it (i cant spell and im in rush)
it kicks ass just need a amp
 
A Squire is an upgrade? Wow. Sanded what back? Aint Squires plywood? Or are Squire's now high end Fender? I aint looked at a Squire since they first came out.
 
no idear what its made of its a cheap start pack fender we sanded all the paint of and put new pick ups in it it sounds really good hard to belive i no
