I doubt there is a sound you can not get with that bass, except for the obvious fretless.
Also the Vampyre is a killer model, along with the Infinity, both are my preferred Warwick models, its a pity there is no 6 string version of them.
Makes me even more thrilled to get my custom.

I read that your new bass has a piezo pickup in the lower "horn". How does that work and affect the tone? It's a killer bass. Congratulations.

I saw some of the pictures of it in custom shop gallery, but this morning I saw an unfinished version something similar here at the Factory, I knew it was similar to your custom shop because it had the the cut for the extra piezo you added in the lower horn.

You turn the tone knob all the way to the treble end... and then slap the bottom horn... use a bunch of angles... they all sound different. 8)
And thanks for all the comments, guys! I just played it for four days straight on the booth in China (Peter Fischer and I took pictures of each other playing, so maybe they'll throw a few up on the site...) and it's fantastically cool. It may look like overkill, but those double twin pickups are actually there for a very good reason... I experiment a LOT with fingerstyle playing; playing the lower strings with my thumb (but not slapping) and the higher strings with my fingers, and to play most accurately, the natural position of the hand leaves my thumb out to the LEFT of my fingers. Having the two twin J's where they are puts one right under my thumb and one right under my fingers... no compromising hand position, comfort, or tone. Boo ya.
The hipshot tuner actually wasn't supposed to be there. When I found out there wasn't enough room to install more than one, I decided to leave them off entirely, but it seems they've given me a freebie... on the Low B string. But who needs a hipshot on the low B string?? So I'm going to have it swapped out and put on the high G... at least it'll get some use there. Right now it's just another ornament on the "Christmas Tree" (which I found hysterical, by the way...)
I'm going to open up the back and start experimenting with the inner tone control on the piezo, and if anything cool happens, I'll be sure to post it!
In the meantime... Ollie: I don't know how often you've eaten in Germany, but if you haven't already gone into town and tried what they call "Doner", I *highly* recommend it with all the extras.

Hi Seth, reading about your thumb and finger playing is interesting because I do it as well (probably because I was a classical guitarrist at first) and there is a lot of experiments you can do with different pups because of the sound with the different fingers. Anthony Jackson is also a keen thumb player but has never slapepd (not "fine" enough which I believe is BS).

I looked alot closer at Seths new Vampyre & I think it just may be one of the wildest basses ever.That horn piezo is something I wouldve never dreamed up,it's gonna be cool to see it played live.My ex-wife's favourite is Marcbass' honey violin Vampyre LTD so she thinks there's nothing they can't do.Maybe this time she's right,perish the thought.
