No need to tell you lot how amazing the Corvette $$ is... but I'm going to anyway!

At long last, I've found THAT elusive tone... the one that sounds like a dinosaur farting (some might call it the "Growl")! Warwick... feel free to use my description in your advertising!

The range of tones from the humbuckers are incredible - but the parallel setting is my favourite - with about 60-70% bias to the bridge p/up - it's just outrageous!

Thanks to everyone... as all the comments in the forum have guided me towards this.... even down to the strings (whacked some d'addario chromes on it straight away)

ahhh congrats bro! welcome to the brotherhood! im loving my doublebuck now just as much as the day i bought her, stupidly amazing bass.

Congrats SJ. Post some pics when you finally put it down. I'm also still loving mine. The parallel setting is pretty close for me too, with some slight variations...

Nice!!!! I've never quite been able to describe the "growl" in such a beautiful way. Congrats on the bass too!!

It was close to 8 weeks... but it was sitting in the corner of the shop for nearly two weeks, and nobody had let me know... in fact, when I phoned up the first time, they didn't even get back to me, and the bloody thing was sat there. Negative brownie points there.

Doesn't matter at all now, though... as it's sorted, and it's MINE, all MINE!

Next stop... world domination!
 
Congrats on the new $$! It really does sound phenomenal , especially fretless! What finish did you get?
 
Nirvana Black!

The oil finish is a first for me - I've always preferred shiny surfaces - but this is definitely growing on me - sort of utilitarian - and very rock!

Looking at some of the waxed and polished exotic woods on this site is definitely changing my mind about the natural wood look!
 
Well - the shop begins with "E" and rhymes with "lectromusic".

I'll say no more, as I might have to forgive and forget if I get another severe case of GAS

Tell you what, I need some straplocks and a new strap for my Sterling - I'll get them from Sound Control as a protest :P
 
Congrats on the $$! I just ordered my Natural $$ last Friday. I could have ordered from Bass Central and probably had it by now, but I am loyal to some folks at George's up here, so hopefully they get it to me in a fairly normal time frame...

never was a truer word ect. :twisted:

in fact "Dave the Useless" managed,on several occasions,to loose the sales on my whole rig through being "Useless" & generally not giving a shit .
oh well Electromusic's loss was The Bass Centre's gain :D
 
Sounds like Dave needs a bit of "retraining"... good job he's not a brain surgeon!

If the phone hadn't been answered by someone else when I called a second time, I think my bass would still be sitting there now!

This is not intended to be an advert, but some UK guys might want to know... I've actually ordered loads of stuff from Bass Centre and had no problems with them - my corvette rockbass, mark bass amps, pedals and all kinds of bits and pieces (er... spare JAN2's for example)... maybe I should have stuck with them!

umm- maybee Dave could use some brain surgery, or even a brain would be a start :D
 
Yeh,

when I got my Corvette from 'lectro, blow me no gig bags.......had to haggle to get the 'Randy Rhodes' Warwick bag. Also no strap locks - had to buy a set of Dunlops. Oli - any chance of 'store credit' :D
