Just wanted to add my own pics of the "Vette" front and back.
thanks for all the compliments :D

I just picked up my first Warwick bass and now I am wondering what took me so long :?
I guess I really never delved into Warwick until now and I can't believe how nice these basses sound and play. The build and design is absolutely incredible. Oh and the customer service can't be beat.

Congrats on the bass man. :D

It surprises me each and every time how diverse Bubinga is in terms of appearance; yours reminds me a bit of the beautiful Koa top on the 2004 LTD Corvette....................just gorgeous. :D

I also have to pick up my Corvette Standard Bubinga 5 (2007) on Saturday from the shop :) Only mine will be PAS/PAS.. it will be my first Warwick! I'm so happy! :lol:

Welcome aboard basstones, and let me just say, That is a SWEET Bubinga top!

I too got bit with the Warwick bug back in April and now I have 3 Corvettes (the first one really got the GAS going, and now I want a Thumb next)!

One of mine is an '07 $$ 5-string in Nirvana Black, and here are my two fretless Standards, side by side:



The one on the right is the first Warwick that I bought back in April. It is an '03, and I upgraded the pickups to Bartolini 9CBJD1 and added a Hipshot D-tuner.

The one on the left I bought a week ago. It is an '06 with an exotic figured Tigerstripe Ebony fingerboard and a beautifly uniform Bubinga body, though I really like the Bubinga grain on yours...
 
Same here! I bought a 'vette STD active -4 ..I see a used Fortress fretless in my future!
 
Very smooth (and creamy) grain on that 'vette, basstones. Congratulations. I can't wait until I have the cash for a Warwick Corvette fretless, or a Thumb Fretless. Speaking of the Corvette fretless, I can't get over how awesome the fingerboard looks on your's, maddrakkett. VERY lovely - the '06.

Thanks! I can't take my eyes off it either - except to play it of course! I wouldn't have bought a second 4-string fretless (I'm supposed to be saving up to pay off my Ws and to add a CS Thumb to the family), but it plays and sounds even better than it looks! How could I resist? :wink:

Ooooo so many lovely corvettes :D

The variety of bubinga helps add character to the basses as the difference is so great its like each bass is a unique and separate person.

+1. It makes the Standards more like a "one-of-a-kind" custom that's uniquely "yours"!

Yeah,

think about it: even the most exotic CS bass is reproducable..........But many pieces of wood are not. Indeed, it's like a fingerprint. 8)
 
because of the woods, even the cheapest corvette is indervidual and has a personality (so to speak) :wink:

thats what i love about warwicks

my first one will be my last, it's such a goodie, why should i get me another one?
it's like my girlfriend: a cutie, telling me sweets, never bothers... and the great feeling by the touch of the body... :D
