Just a tip for a combo:

My BTB700 has a maple neck, ash body and a mahogany top.

It is a killer sound and it would look the part as a Corvette CS =D



What I also love about the BTB700 is the thrusrodcover.
They are made from the same wood as the fingerboard, very slick-looking!
Definitly better looking than the plastic ones!!

thats the point graham. you play warwicks, i'd expect you to care about what wood it's made of.
 
But with the MM it's more fun! Like a little mystery what it's made out off! :D
 
Which albums does Meshell use the Warwick on and what model? I may have to get some of her cd's - Just listened to sound clips from some of her albums - I'm liking Peace beyond Passion ATM

I have nooooooooooooo idea; maybe you can check her on youtube, and see if you can find some clips with the Warwick bass.......... 8)

ohhh no it doesnt! It has soo much more punch than the regular stingrays! Also, the sound is much more focused and isnt as sloppy sounding and "boomy". It is a great instrument and is probably the best stingray ever made. It is defintiely worth checking it out, even if you dsilike EBMM instruments.

I still think it's a little mystery: why on earth did MM choose to make the anniversary model out of Mahogany ?? They never (I think) used this wood for the Stingrays in the past, and now suddenly they made an anniversary model out of it..........hmmm............ :roll:

Maybe they found so much mahogany in the mystery box that they decided to try making a line using one species of wood! :D

from what I have read, they wanted to take a different direction in terms of which body wood was used. I think they made good choice....

Hmmmm,

I smell brave new world corporate tricks................a company wants to know how the public will respond to a certain change in design (in this case using Mahogany). So they make a limited edition model, and if the model is received positively, then they'll make a standard production model out of it. And suddenly, the exclusive limited edition model................isn't so exclusive anymore............. :( This is just a theory, and I'm not claiming it's applicable to EBMM. :wink:

they hvent released any plans to make another full mahogany bass, so I think Im safe. plus, its a throw back bass in that it is string thru body like the old EBMM stingrays. There are many little things to it, but being full mahogany, I dont give a crap if they mass produce it, its worth playing and you cna guarantee any newer ones will not have string through body, and all the other little changes.
