I just finished up here on the London Guitar Show, and wanted to give a little report to the troops...

First of all, over the course of the three days, I got to meet a few of you guys face to face, and that was great fun... nerding out and talking bass, seeing everyone's eyes light up as they checked out the stuff on the booth, and even playing my demos every other hour in the impossibly loud exhibition hall, competing with hundreds of decibels of other players... it was tolerable 'cause you guys were there; thanks!

The musical highlight of the show for me, though, was getting to speak at length with Jonas Hellborg about his new amp and speaker cabinets... he had me plug into his rig and we messed around with the different features... and OH MY GOD THIS THING IS BRILLIANT. I'm normally going on about midrange-this and midrange-that, but plugging into Jonas's system, all the mids I normally boost were just too much... it was a nasty, strident sound. So Jonas fiddled with the knobs a bit and suddenly there was this amazing tone...

"What'd you do?" I asked him.

"I set everything completely flat."

Unbelievable. That's what an amp is supposed to do, you know? You don't touch anything; you just plug in and turn it up. This amp actually does that.

So, was anyone else there that I didn't see?

i would have loved to be there but i couldnt spare the time :( looks like i missed a chance to meet some of you guys :(

For those who weren't there...

Again, thanks for putting up with me, Seth!

lol seth your eyebrows to exactly the same as mine when hitting the high notes

awsome pics :) its nice to see the vampyre with such beautiful clarity

The London Guitar Show was awesome, especially the Warwick booth!
I flew over from Ireland on Saturday just for the day, I had to get up at 4:30 in the morning but it was well worth it. First of all let me just say that all the guys representing Warwick at the booth should be very proud of themselves for doing such a great job and for being such amazingly nice guys.
I was at the show for about 6 hours and I spent about 4 and a half of those hours at the Warwick booth, mostly talking to Seth..lol Im sure anybody who has met Seth already knows that he is one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet, and that he like pasties. (Not to mention a shockingly talented bassist and performer)
I chatted briefly with Jonas Hellborg after watching one of his performances in awe!
I felt so so so so honoured as i got to speak with God himself (aka Hans Peter Wilfer) for about 15 mins, i am still blown away at how humble the creator of the greatest basses in the world is in person, thank you Hans Peter Wilfer!

Heres a couple of shots from the day:

Heres Seth warming up, practising his chops, er karate chops that is

Seth wooing the crowds away from the Steve Vai guitar clinic.

100% agree :D i didn't notice the mixed yin-yang/bass clef inlays at first glance :D

*sigh*
All righty then. Shutting down the college funds for the children to afford a monster custom Warwick.

Beautiful Bass, and I have only heard Seth on his Myspace, which is still pretty awesome.

So what is it with England. It appears to be the place the world revolves around. :D

In my Juggling circle it all happens in England. :P

Well, the wife does love it there, she spent some time over there in Newark many eons ago.

And it wouldn't be so hard to work on servers and networks there. Just have to add 'u' to a few words.

It looks like Camphor burl to me. But Ollie can tell us for shure what is it .

Seth. What is this on the jack that is in the bass? A pack of picks? Looks like...

That's his vegemite patches,he's trying to quit.
