Hey guys, photoshop wizzards,

Let's make avatars, and post them here, to built a gallery for our forum. It would be nice.
We can use them on messengers, and on other forums too eh?
I will learn to use photoshop and I will try to make some myself :-)

Great idea!

Great idea Florin!

Here are two I have already. Both photos I've taken myself.

First one is a close-up of my Bubinga Corvette from the bridge end looking up towards the neck, with the strings intentionally thrown out of focus:

...the second one is a photo of my New Warwick Pro FET 5.2 head.

;)

This gem was put together by Jan,which includes the full CS gallery to date. This one's gonna be hard to beat.

That's really beautiful Greg - but it's too big for an avatar!

It was also done by Jan. LOL. Its cool. I have a flood of avatars coming.

hehe, I actually recently put the "wheel of Warwicks" back on my desktop at work, and I got a few comments from co-workers (mainly to the sense that I was mad, but hey, I can live with that...)

As far as avatars are concerned, what did you have in mind Florin? "W" avatars, Specific basses, amps, palyers? anything in particular?

(Oh, and I wouldn't mind if we took that opportunity to make the avatar pictures slightly bigger... 80x80 is mighty small... 100x100 or 120x120 would make me a happy camper... )

Thanks Patrick. We have democracy here on the forum, so if everyone else wants larger avatars, we will do it. But then again, it would be nice to use these avatars on other forums too, and messengers, so it should fit in most of the forums.
What size do you recommend for that?

I think most are a little bigger anyways. At least 100X100. I vote for bigger avatars as well.

Well some forums have avatars as large as 150x150 pixels, which can be sometimes heavy when posts are short.

I've found that 120x120 gives a good balance between image size and level of detail...

As for usage on other forums, it's always possible to shrink a too large avatar, and MSN does it automatically, but increasing the size doesn't always give good result...

For the file size don't increase it, 50K is more than enough!

Ok, Master Jan, and Master thndrstrk!!!!

Because your help is invaluable for us, we will make avatar size 120/120.
Starting.... NOW!!!!

Sweet! thank you! now I have to wait a good six hours before I get back home and dig through my images to change avatars...

no wait, i probably can find something here.... hold on...

There! Thanks a million, Florin!

You're just saying that because your whitey is right smack in the middle of it!

But seriously, I have a full resolution 2500x2500 pixel version of that image, if you're interested...

(And yeah, took me quite a bit of time to line up all those little soldiers in a nice formation like that...)
