Just got my '91 Thumb fretless 5

Hey everyone, I just got my 91 fretless 5 string thumb in the mail yesterday and thought I would post some pics. I got this bass just browsing the Guitar Center used gear section of their site. This bass is freaking amazing! It has the MEC j pups and the MEC 2 band eq as well as a stunning bubinga body. I also have a 1990 fretless pictured beside my newbie which was originally fretted. It has a wenge fretboard and a upgraded John East 3 band eq. The 6 string sounds very compressed and has more of a Jaco tone compared to the 5 string. They sound completely different with different pups and preamps along with different fretboards. I really couldn't say which one I like more because they are both very unique in their own way. The 5 however, weighs a lot less than the 6 so I like that aspect. Well enjoy the thumb goodness!

Thumb 5 is probably the best sounding fretless bass, and you have a gorgeus one.

Hey thanks guys! I am actually using DR black beauties on that bass. They are regular round wound strings with a coating on them. I play my basses almost every day and they last about 6 months. Killer strings!
