Just A Nut screws completely stripped.

I've been a proud player of a Warwick Corvette Standard 5-string for the last two years. I took my bass to Cleveland Music to have the action adjusted and the neck straightened and realized that the screws on my Just a Nut were completely stripped and came right out. Do I need a new Just a Nut? The technician told me if I could get a new Just a Nut he'd put it on the bass for no charge.
 
if it is a JAN 1 or 23 you can get a free new one to pout in and takes 5 mins for you to put in. if it is a JAN1 (made of Brass metal) then you need to get a new JAN1 too.
 
You might be able to run a tap through the holes & fit slightly larger screws,but I think the easiest way to go is to just replace the top section of the nut.
 
Hey Mark.
If it you have a brass JAN, then buy one similar.
If you have a JAN II, with sharp edges, then buy a JAN III now, it is easy to replace.
If you have a JAN III, with round edges, the do what Greg said, buy a JANIII and replace the top part.
Until then, you can fit something between the two parts, to have an usable nut until you get your replacement.

According to my manual it's a JAN II. It's definitely not made of brass, I can tell you that much.
 
Definitely need to get you a JAN 3 ordered.

Check around for your local Warwick dealer,
they'll be able to place the order for you, no
problem.

most of your dealers will get you one for free ;)

The old Warwick distibutor used to send you free replacements but they stopped servicing Warwick in 2008. Now a new distributor will start and things are just starting.. I do not know if they will continue with that program or not.

try looking for Hanser music and give them a call to find out.
