Just-a-Nut Purchase in the US

Knowing DBG is very local to me, means I get my stuff almost the next day. Free shipping, and they get the stuff out of their stockroom.
I was at a Guitar Center, San Berdo I think, they still think DBG is the distributor.

As for the NYC shop...ok they sell online, where's the catalog that has dollars and not euros? And free shipping? Having a catalog in dollars, free shipping really makes a difference.

Ditto that about a cache of Warwicks LOL...I just want 3 more then I'm satisfied. The 2010, the Vamp & Infinity.

I'm sorry that the Showroom is not as close to you as DBG is, but there ain't much I can do about it :-)

On the other points, I've never stated they sell online, you just need to give the guys a phone call or a short email, and they will either sell you the parts, give you the prices, or point you to a local dealer. I know it's not a solution that satisfy everybody, but we're making efforts to get installed on the long run on the american market, and finding the right distributor (we did not change without reasons) and opening a showroom in Manhattan show, IMHO, that we took the right steps in this direction.

Keep in mind that we're a european company, on a global market dominated by the americans, and that getting ourselves installed in the american market requires more efforts on our side. Be assured we try our best to get it right, wether it's about selling our instruments or assuring the best service we can. Fact is, it won't happen overnight, but we're working on it and we care. Seriously. We know it's not perfect and that it can sometimes be frustrating for you.

(Well, it's 22:00, I'm posting from my bed, and we'll be waking up at 5:00 to go to work in the production office. I don't even work in service or sales, so be assured I would not even bother being on the forum if we did not care about our customers).

Anyway, if you're dissatisfied with the situation, you can always send an email to [email protected] with your suggestion(s), the answer might prove you that we listen to you and try to get things right (i.e. you're likely to get a personal answer from the boss) :-)

Hey dont get me wrong, I love everything Warwick but if I can find items cheaper, it's a no brainer. I just wish it was easier to get stuff. Nobody carries anything. West LA Music sold me a JANIII, when it was lost by UPS..they suddenly don't carry Warwick stuff. That's frustrating.
I can hope the powers that be would consider a SoCal shop like the NYC one, there's a lot of great locations in LA or even Orange county.

Alexandre, I don't think anyone is wanting to say that your company is not making efforts, but, as you've said, you are competing in a global market, where the competition is very stiff. It is harder now to compete with all that's out there. I find that once somebody plays one of your basses, they're hooked! Take me for example, who sold most of his other basses (old Fenders and Gibsons) to buy three different (and used) Corvettes over a two-month period!!!

The lack of easy availability for service and parts in the US may be the reason that so many Warwicks are available on eBay for ridiculous (in my opinion) prices! I just bought an immaculate 2006 Warwick Corvette Std (Bubinga) 5 string for $420. People are having a hard time selling their Warwick basses to upgrade to a better model, and I believe this is due to the limited access to both service and parts. That there is no online availability and USD pricing is just not a good financial practice in these hard financial times, when you are trying to compete in a US market.

That said, Thank You for the outstanding products you produce!!! I truly hope your company is around for a long time to come, as i can still see a few more models I want to own (FNA and a Thumb BO).

My comments on the american market might have been unclear. US domestic market for stringed electric instruments is the largest one worldwide AFAIK (I think I read that in MusicTrade, but unsure), and historically the first one. All the major actors of this market are american, and installed on this market for several decades, have established dealers networks and customer bases. We, on the other side, have an outsider position, where we need a distribution, have a different currency and try to penetrate a very protected market. That's how I meant the american market was, IMO, special.

:-)

We appreciate the loyalty and trust customers like you shows, I'm just saying, give us some time, we're working on it and fully aware of the situation :-)

Will do! I'll be calling Tyler, as well, for my Warwick needs.

Must be nice.. I've ordered three things from DBG off eBay lately and it takes 4-5 days for them to even ship them.

Well, Ventura is relatively local to me, that's how I figure. If I had time I'd make an adventure of it and drive up to Ventura but no time.
He's still looking for some screws I think...seems there's stuff all over the place.

Maybe we need to educate people how much more awesome Warwick basses are than all the other brands and create a huge demand...ok im dreaming.
But it's like in the land of boring Fender - IMO which I've never been impressed with, they're dime a dozen, all looks the same, they use only a couple diff woods, most always with some basic color ....*yawn*....It must be hard to get a foothold into and grab some piece of the action. People are used to the plain & boring so they go straight to Fender's stuff.

Over at Sam Ash I was talking with an employee a bit, he said he wished the store would get a couple higher end basses, incl. Warwick.

Honestly, a huge problem about getting parts is the absence of an online store for the US. People go to Warwick website for parts, and realize they get charged 60 EUR for shipping. Its very difficult for the average consumer to find a part. I understand that the CS has been fulfilling orders, but IMO no average person is gonna know that. Even the dealer I got my nut through didnt know that until I told him.

IMO an online store based in the US (or US pricing) would help immensely. As mentioned in another thread, most people nowadays shop online for the best price. And Im not sure what it is, but people here dont like to call anymore, it all email, text and IM. Human interaction is slowly fading away......

I just gotta thing about phones, I prefer to see who I'm talking to...probably goes back to my retail days when these people would call my shoe dept and do their shopping for them, it's like this is a dept store, get off your hiney and come to the store. lol!!

+1 on the online store here in america. I doubt it would take more than two extra people out of the custom shop in New York to fulfill the orders. It could also act as a display of what basses are in stock at the New York store and show how much they cost (the real list price). That display would definitely drive up the second hand market prices. Off topic, but I see too many Warwicks going for cheap in areas where Guitar Center sold them cheaper than anyone.

Warwicks do have more parts on them than your average bass. And they are built to last, and they do last. So parts become an important issue. I agree a US shop should help a lot with that, don't know how feasible or financially rational it is to set up.
