I'm apartment maintenance as well and live on site as well. Sadly when the smallest things break I have people at my door complaining. The emergency pager is fun as well... Not to mention being on call 24/7 and people showing up at my door at all hours of the morning!

But, It's nice cause I save gas... Some of the neighbores even like me :P

The pay isn't bad and it's a good day when I don't have to fix a toilet :P

Luckily,I dont have to fix anything that's inside anyone's home.I only cover the common areas.If an elderly neighbour needs a washer or light globe changed,I'm happy to help out.I'm on great terms with all my neighbours,except one.There's always one dickhead in every complex.But luckily,they're renters & they wont be here for much longer. :lol:

That sounds like we have the same job! In the daytime, I'm super of a condo complex and only cover common areas. I don't believe in paying rent and the pay is good. I usually work 2 to 3 hrs a day and only when the phone rings, so I'm usually out doing a private job. It's like getting paid twice. I'd love to get in with the railroad system though because the benefits are better.

hmmm, well i asked the guys at samash how old you had to be to work there and they said 18 because of this liability stuff, but samash has a better set up at guitar center, guitar center just bugs me, people always hovering over you, why do you think they carry Thumb BO's but not NT's, i never figured that out

I usually don't have a problem with people hovering over me at GC... They know me too well there and usually stay away because they know the majority of the time the only thing I'm going to buy is strings :P

I've seen a few Thumb NT's at GC and a NT Katana as well. But it's usually Corvette's
 
I've been through a lot of small jobs during my schooldays. Most of them in a company building lighting advices. In and outdoor.
I had there a lot of summer jobs - most of them in the goods recieving department (btw: do you guys know how much this sucks, when you have to look up such phrases? totaly uncommon to me. sometimes I really wonder if anybody else besides the dictionary says things like that).
A lot of hard work because I have to carry around stuff which is pretty heavy. But good money.
That's also what I'm doing the whole august.
Until end of june I was soldier (basic military service).

In October I'll start studying pharmaceutical sciences - always wanted to go into medicine but my graduation is not good enough. So this seems like a good compromise.

I temp in the hols atm i'm gardening which is nice money, mainly to get me some cabs.

I'm thinking of trying to get into some djing as well, probably back at uni though as campus events can pay you to do it and this really easy.

After i graduate i have no idea! I might try the whole pro musician thing, or go where ever my electronics and music tech degree takes me, luithering could be fun or amp building, preferbly something to do with music or bass tbh. But i got 3 more years to think things over!
 
I work as a teacher in the municiple musicschool. In Norway every county is by law governed to have a musicschool for schoolchildren. I teach typical band instruments, gitars, drums, keyboards, piano and of course bassgitar. I also conduct the schools marchingband.

Man, I love how your work sounds. I hope the kids don't give you too much trouble. :D I can't think of anything better than guiding children into the wonderful world of music. It's a great thing your country supports music this way. I wish we had half the music education mindset you have over there.
 
I work as a Product Engineer for a medical supply company. I add features and functionality to products and reduce manufacturing costs of patient hygene products.

I also work part time at a friend's optometry office cutting lenses for glasses and being an office assistant.
 
I work at a hospital at the Emergency Room. Everyday I help people with mental health and substance abuse problems. Also deal with homelessness, abuse, neglect, exploitation, elderly and chronically ill.

What is fun about my job?

you never know who is the next person that you will se and what problems they have. so this breaks up the monotony.

Yes jester, its a gratifying job. Working with children, and taking part in their discovering of the musical world is the true payback of the work. I am lucky to be able to do my hobby and get paid for doing it.
 
I work in a big electronic shop that sells TV's, MP3 players, dishwashers, computers, and everything in between... I'm the guy at the desk that gives you the product that you just bought... What people don't see is that I (and my coworkers) have to run the warehouse, the stocks, deal with out-of-order stuff, etc...

Not a bad job but a bit stressing sometimes, especially on Saturdays when it's crowded.

yah, when im sixteen though, i don't think they'll let me work at a fancy restaurant, the people a maggianos, are very good tippers, thats where i would work, if i was going to be a waiter
