"It's beginning to look a lot like Warwick..." or "Walking in a Warwick Wonderland..."

Woohoo! I got off work really early today, so I went ahead and picked up the Dirty Blonde today instead of waiting until after Christmas. I didn't want to have it in my truck while running my route all day, and I had the day after Christmas off, so I was going to wait until then, but when I finished my route early and found out I didn't have to help anyone else with their routes, I rushed right over to The Bass Place on my way back in.

I then rushed home and hooked this baby up to my SWR Mo' rig. Jingle Bells never sounded so good! No, it really does sound incredible. My goal for this particular bass in my arsenal is to get a funky "slap and slide" like Bathiki Kumalo gets with his fretless Paul Simon's Graceland album. Since the Dirty Blonde has the right combo of woods and is known to be a slap monster when it has frets, my technique, not the instrument, will be the biggest challenge to achieving my goal. But when I have it on the P pickup and "pop" on the D string, all the fat glorious sound of funk is right there! I do seem to get flatter muffled wooden tone when popping on the G string however. Perhaps just a simple setup adjustment perhaps?

Here's the beautiful wood grained arsenal:

Now that's an amazng collection of Warwicks, dude... Congrats !

The fretless Dirty Blonde has got to be one of the best Warwick's I've seen recently. I know it's an aftermarket mod, but it looks so damn good! Very nice collection!

Congrats on the new acquisition!!!

This is a nice family or Warwick's living at your home now.

Do you have a garage where I can also move in? (joke)
Believe me, I will take care of them while you're at work.
