Interested in modding my speKtor any adivice?

If you don't dig ther V-V controls, and you're into
working on this ax, just add a master volume. If
there's no room for another pot in cavity, you can
get a stacked dual-vol control to replace one of the
current vol pots, and then use the other spot for a
master vol control ... with bigger "masterful" knob.
 
NAcho- you are dmn righ i want something like that, but a chopped up spektor will do for now.
Golem-that is a great idea. if i cant get used to the V/V a master vol will give me the best of both worlds. When are we renaming this forum the "ask golem hotline"
 
Quick update: i sanded the clear coat, then the colour off the neck and found it had ANOTHER clear sealer coat. So its down to that and i like it. Also means i wont have to tung oil it, at least not till it starts to wear. The edges were easy in the end, i just scored with a razor bladed and used the blade to remove the varnish and paint to the cut line. there is planty of sloppy paint still on the neck but i decided it wasnt worth the time on cosmetics. The reason i started moddin this thing was because it was nice to play and i wanted to make it better. a mod job that sits on the the shelf for weeks while i work on it doesnt get played. so now it feels great and looks OK. And in my books that is better than looking great and feeling ok.

Oh its done enough, there is about an inch of laquer over the thing! truly it is the sound of high gloss plastic! And the quilt maple top looks to be about a micron thick, so any clumsy sanding willexpose the glorious alder beneath...I think any further changes will be electromatic from now on.
