Our band is working on some more covers for a long New Years show - Everyone is gonna suggest a few good songs for dancing to - I know a bunch of them but would like some suggestions - I play with my fingers - No pick and I'm not really into alot of playing slap/pop or tap -

i do enjoy a good version of 'my sharona.'

its cheesy... but hey... the song sequence there is nothing to sneeze at.
 
Brothers Johnson- "Stomp". One of the few songs Louis isn't slapping on. It has a fun bass line too with an area for soloing if you want.

Martha Reeves, Wilson Picket, and the
Grateful Dead ? All danceable ? No slap ?

BTW, Midnight Hour has got possibly the
simplest recognizable signature bassline
ever to grace a jukebox.

Maybe Flake by Jack Johnson if you want a chill song. It's a fun bass line that's easy to accent with some cool techniques!

"Heart Shaped Box" or "Lithium" by Nirvana

"Creatures for A While" or "Down" by 311
"Break Stuff" or "Eat You Alive" by Limp Bizkit
...

I know not all of these are dancing songs neccessarily, but as a cover band, most of these are mandatory, and I have never heard a complaint when busting out "Whiskey in the Jar" as covered by you covered from Metallica of Thin Lizzy.
