... all fingers and thumbs. No coordination whatsoever. Grrr

First time I've had a full free afternoon to play some bass for ages, and I'm just frustrating myself.

Think I'll go out for a drive instead ;)

One of those days huh? Those comes and goes. My last two rehearsals were the same. Everything was wrong! The basses and amps sounded like shait. I thought someone fiddled with my amp settings, but no. I even made a desperate battery change, but that was for nothing. The other guys kept saying that all sounds good. PMS or ovulating, dunno...

Take your car for a ride 8) . I did. It helps. Beer also helps :) .
 
Oh, forgot to say that the combination of both suggested medicines is a bad choice :lol:

Eh... no :oops: . In this weather, who wants to sell a convertible? The priorities changed :lol: .

As I might be moving back to Sweden I might just bring it with me. I'll get a much better deal selling it there.

Good excuse, or...? :D

Fraxture, you get McEwans in the States? Made just down the road from me at Socttish and Newcastle breweries!

God it is excellent! Was able to get Gulden Draak, but the owner retired and now the store is gone. :(

But McEwan's is most excellent. American beer is watery and has a metallic taste to it. I could be on a deserted island surrounded by American Beers, and I would die of thirst. :P

I am in the studio right now, and it seems I have the same problem do you have a quick solution, a medicin or something, because I really suck !

And the sound guy always showing me two thumbs up is making me even more pissed off. It's like : 'yeah, right!.... like I don't listen to the same tracks...

Did you noticed, studio engineers do have some tricks to make you feel better?
 
It depends on the days... Sometimes I play "good", sometimes I play like crap...


Depends on many settings.
 
I had a bad case of ear wax once & it made everything sound weird,it put me off balance too.After I sprayed this crap in my ears every day for a week & it was gone,& everything returned to normal.I just thought I'd mention it while were talking about sounding crappy.

and it's also very common here to talk about wax as well................ :wink:

lol i had the same experience except that my ears wernt actually blocked. but the eardrops kept getting caught in my ears for days at a time making me half deaf. plus the inside of my ear was tickling. after a week of it i was going insane.


back on topic...last time i was in the studio i played really well and i put that down to the great engineer. (plus i was playing trough a neve preamp which made me smile)
 
Funny thing....

Rehearsal last Wednesday... playing my Thumb through my "rehearsal" Ashdown combo... sounded like a dog... felt everything was booming and I couldn't rein it in... everyone saying, "can't hear the bass"... just not cutting through!

Rehearsal Friday... same settings... sounded great... the whole band sounded great... we all ended up in a good mood!

Is that a "psycho-acoustic phenomonen" or what? or are we just a bunch of twonks?
