I won my first Thumb NT - a beautifly figured 4-string that looks like tiger and fire. It's the "turn-of-the-century" (year 2000, serial number G-080780-00) that I had been inquiring about and all the posts here were very helpful in solidifying my decision. It's in primo shape according to the seller and I won it for $1425.00 USD.

Here are some small pics from the seller on eBay:

Once it arrives, I'll take bigger, clearer pics and post, but already it looks like just what this doctor ordered! :D

congrats man :D sweet looking bass you just acquired 8)

That's one of the nicer Thumbs I've seen. The grain is sick!

That's gotta be the prettiest wood I've seen on a Thumb bass! I love my '92 Bubinga one, but it's not as cute as yours.

Yep,

that's indeed one of the best looking 2000 Thumb NT. congratulations man.

stunning Bubinga, really!

If only there would have been Wengé stripes in the neck...

If it had been a couple years older...

But I like the way the Ovangkol stripes blend with the Bubinga, and I love the way the Ovangkol necks feel on my Corvettes, smoother than Wenge - so this makes sense for me. And Warwick claims Ovangkol is VERY close in tone to Wenge, so I'm really not missing anything, but everyone has their opinions about this... 8)

I just can't wait to see and feel her in person!

Congrats!

Not only do you own one of the finest electric basses on the planet, an instrument that you will enjoy for the rest of your life, but I have to agree with the others, that is some fabulous wood!

Great Score,

Oil Can

Looks like you got a good deal too... Thats pretty much £700, you guys get things so much cheaper!

Its roughly what i payed for mine BUT I would have payed more for one with a grain like that!

It's definitely one of the best lookin' NT that i saw. Congratz!

Thanks for all the nice compliments. 8)

I've always dreamed of having a top-of-the-line NT instrument that also had a high-end exotic grained wood, and now my dream's coming true! :D
