It turns out that GC gave me the wrong gig bag for my Corvette Standard. They gave me a bag for a Rockbass. They have since corrected the problem and I picked up the correct bag with the users kit today. The only thing that was still missing were the strings that maddrakkett said should also be in there. But I didn't press them on that issue since I received a coupon in the mail yesterday that gave me another 10% off my purchase! They gave me the discount and saved me quite a bit of money.

Good to hear that! I do have to make a correction. I did receive an extra set of strings with the kit for my Corvette Std. fretless, but that was a kit I had to go back to GC for and it was not the correct kit for my bass - it was for a Ltd. Edition Jazzman. My latest Corvette Std, fretless that I bought this week also did not have the correct kit and the kit GC gave me did not have the strings. My $$ is the only bass from GC that came with the correct case and kit and it did not include the strings either.
My conclusion is that only the more expensive and/or the Ltd. Editions only include the extra strings. I just got lucky when I got the wrong kit.
It is all confusing and unfair to the customers who shop for Warwicks from GC, but then, I haven't been able to beat the prices or find the models I bought anywhere else in town!
PS: I too received a notice for 10% off, two days after buying my latest Warwick, so I went back and the salesman honored the offer, crediting back the discount to my GC account. And he had also thrown in a $45.00 Levy's bass strap for free, so I am still one of the few who remains happy with GC!
