Hi all! This is my very first post on this forum. My wife just bought me a brand new Corvette Standard 4 string for Father's Day and I'm REALLY excited about it! Only problem is that I promised not to play my new baby until Sunday! I can't even look at it!! :cry:

I played my first Warwick about a month ago at my local music shop. I fell in love with it right away! I started playing bass about 20 years ago, but stopped playing about 12 years ago. I've only picked it up again in the last two years and am going to start playing at my church. I'd never even heard of Warwick before. When I went to look at basses I played the Warwick just for fun. I thought I'd never spend that much on a bass. Little did I know how great it would play! After playing the Corvette I couldn't even look at the other basses! It hooked me the first time I played it!

I'll post a picture next week sometime, after I get a chance to play it!! :D
 
Congrats, Squidzit! That's a great bass. If you take a peek and happen to pluck a string or two before the five days is up and review it early, we won't tell. :D

I know that pain....

my parents bought me a Peavey VK100 head for Xmas/Bday gift this past december.
I saw the box, but coulnt even see it until Xmas morning.

It sat there for about a month and a half. :cry:

hold in there. it's worth it. :D
 
Yeah, my mother in law can really lay down some funky bass lines! :P

I couldn't wait a month and a half for anything!! :shock:

Hey guys, I have a question. What is supposed to come with a Warwick bass when you buy one? I thought I read somewhere that it's supposed to come with Warwick wax for the finish. My bass is a natural finish. I also thought it was supposed to have tools to make adjustments to the bass. Mine doesn't have either of these things. Did I read wrong or did I just not get everything? :?

Yes, natural finish Warwicks are suppose to have the beeswax included in the User Kit, as well as a truss rod tool and two allen wrenches and an extra set of strings; an owner's manual, warranty card, and a polish cloth should also be included in the folder.

If you bought yours at Guitar Center, you are probably like many of us who got a raped kit with the wrong warranty card (wrong model and serial number printed on the card). That's what happened with my Corvette Std. fretless, though I did go back and get them to rape another User Kit to make mine right (now I know why the kits aren't complete...). When I bought my $$ from another GC, it was a brand new '07 delivered 2 days prior, and everything was in proper order.

Too bad GC can't match the customer treatment of Warwick and Dana B. Goods...

Probably, that's one of the reasons for she is THE WIFE!

Congrats mate for picking up bass after some good years, i've also been through that kind of thing.

Not being able to play a note until Sunday... that's beyond torture... but it'll be worth the wait!

You should have a full kit with all the tools, manual and wax (and straplocks)... maybe a moderator (like Ollie) can comment on that!

Thanks for the response. All I got was the gig bag, NOTHING else! No warranty card, NO NOTHING!! And yes, I did buy it at Guitar Center. I sent Dana B Goods an e-mail and they said it should have come with more than just a gig bag. I'm waiting to hear back from them with exactly what it should have come with before I go back to GC and get what I should have received in the first place. Makes me mad! :evil:
 
awwww that sucks not having all the stuff with your warwick and not being able to play it until Sunday wait must be agony.

However its definitely gonna be worth the wait, hope you can get everything sorted and have deaf neighbor as you'll wanna crank that bass up as load as its gonna go and play it all through the night :D
 
Just in case anyone wants to know...

It turns out that GC gave me the wrong gig bag for my Corvette Standard. They gave me a bag for a Rockbass. They have since corrected the problem and I picked up the correct bag with the users kit today. The only thing that was still missing were the strings that maddrakkett said should also be in there. But I didn't press them on that issue since I received a coupon in the mail yesterday that gave me another 10% off my purchase! They gave me the discount and saved me quite a bit of money. :D

Sunday is almost here! 8)
