..can you guys tell me what your impressions are? i really know very little about vintage warwicks :D

this one is a neckthru with p/j EMG pickups and 2 band EQ, wenge neck and maple(?) body


i shot a couple pics when nobody was looking, so the quality is pretty bad:





the body is full of little scratches and dents, but i think with a little sanding it will be ok, and the hardware's gold has pretty much gone away (i like mojoed hardware so no problem)

the only thing i thing i'm gonna replace if i buy it are the pickup screws, those are not the original ones and there's the chance the holes are now larger due to the different screw diameter

and now the tasty bit...the price...469 euros, that would become 200 euros if i give my '92 proline back.

any opinions?

if it's only a bit battle scarred and have no major faults of flaws, then it seems like a really good deal imo.

is there a quick and harmless way to remove dings, for a total newbie like me? :D

Malky.Buy the bass then read this.

That is of course if the bass is in ok shape.

Even if the neck was broken it would be an excellen deal:-)
 
The body wood could also be Cherry. Shouldn't make any difference to your decision to buy it!

yes it's in italy, but i think it will be gone by the end of the day :D

now if i could get that replacement tuning machine for my $$ quickly, i could just give the proline back and start restoring that streamer, still having one fully working bass :roll:

here it is, in all her magnificence :D

i took of the strings (almost new, but i have a set of EMPs waiting), took of the nut for a polishing session, sanded the body a little with steel wool and applied some linseed oil by hand, now i'm waiting for it to dry and i'll pass some wax on :wink:

i really want to take it to reharsals tomorrow, you know 8)
i'll take care of the dings and scratches during the holidays, it just needed some first aid, the body looked like it hadn't beed waxed for ages :roll:

anyway, here's a couple pictures, in the second one you can see where the most dings/scratches are:




..hey in the end i just paid it 190€ (giving my '92 proline back), and i also got some new schaller straplocks for free :wink:
 
alright, the bass is ready for tomorrow, the only thing is that the part of the P pickup under E and A strings doesnt work..i HOPE it's the wiring :wink:
 
are there any new details about the bass? how was the rehearsal? Do you still like the bass? Was it the wiring? :?:

sorry 'bout the delay man, i've been really busy this week :wink:

the problem is definitely the point where the cable is soldered to the pickup..some times it works and some times it doesnt. i guess i'll have to change both the pickups to have a good sound again, even though trashing the original EMGs sucks :roll:

which could be the best pickups to put in?

and most important..what preamp should be in my bass? mec? emg?
 
i personally would use mec parts. emg is to metal-sounding for my taste. and i will always connect warwick with mec.
