Got a couple of pics to post of the Streamer STD. Oscar managed to get in 1, he has a tendency of demanding to be the centre of attention.

I love animals, and I love basses. :D Each time I see the standard Streamer, I realise how much I love simplicity. :wink: Nice one Doog. :D
 
Thanks for the reply san. I love this bass after the brief time with it. Light, easy to play. Huge sound. Simple. The feel of the neck is going to take some work, I waxed it and it feels gummy, so the people I got it from evidently put something on it other than Warwick wax. It's just oil finished ovangkal so it should wax well. It hasn't slicked up like the neck of the Dolphin.

Oh well, this is just going to take a bit of work and time. Overall well worth it in the end.
 
Even your cat likes the bass... that's good sign... cats are very discerning!

it's weird to see that half of the bassplayers I've seen on forums have at least one cat.

Anyone think a twin J might fit into that pup socket? There's a ton of room in the electronics compartment.
 
I dont think so mate.Maybe Delano do a pup that'll fit perfect.
 
The pickup looks the same as the soapbars I have in my Streamer rockbass - they're passive "dynamic correction" type (whatever that means). I looked into replacing these and looked at a few websites that post the dimensions of the replacements... looked at EMGs, Seymours, Status. If I remember rightly, MM style pups are too wide, soapbars are not broad enough (leave a gap where the screws go). Didn't look at TJs though. I even thought about getting a pickguard made to cover the cosmetic defects and putting two J-style in!

My main problems were a lack of output and not enough tonal versatility, but when I got my EBS microbass I stopped worrying about it!

* don't know why I worry about tonal versatility as I just "set and forget"... I think I mean, once I get the one killer tone, I'm happy... sorry... it's all a bit early in the morning for me!

There's nothing wrong with chewing and shitting non stop... it's a life-style choice I made many years ago!

Nice streamer, what's the sound like? by the way, i also have a cat!, i believe someone said something about bass players and cats, was it in this forum? :?
 
It is carolena, with a blue oil finish. It's really light, but sounds very solid. Loads of fun to play.
 
Oscar is currently stoned (I kid you not). I took the shot the last of freedom he had before going to the vet for neutering. Picked him up today, and he's on Buprnex for pain control. It's not a drug I can find a lot of info on, but it seems to be a long acting opiate. Right now he is EXTREMELY mellow. Purrs a lot too. :D
