The pre is about to be handed off to the 5th North American. Lee will be delivering it in person to Grant (Alabama).

I'm Jason, Thats cool Grant is my best friend so either way it will get to both of us. I'll check with Grant when he gets its i know he has had some address changes lately so you can contact me on here or email if any problems with delivering to him. Thanks again

Tour Update: The Hellborg has been handed off to the 6th North American. Things are progressing nicely!
There are only three other guys on the schedule, so it looks like the tour will be wrapping up in the Jan/Feb 2012 time-frame.

well, first day with the Hellborg and it's on a couple of tracks for a producer in Beirut!
Had it at the guitar shop I work at as well and had a couple of friends/co-workers hear it and the results were all the same..... "How much does it cost!!??" quickly followed by "... it sounds amazing!!" "inspiring" "how much!!??"
off to let another buddy use it tomorrow for some tracking and then hopefully some samples to share here.
and yes, Jonas, wow, stunning preamp.

ok guys, sorry for the piece-by-piece snippets I'm giving but my schedule's a little nutty at the moment.
Just wanted to stop in and report on my tooling around last night on the Hellborg. I've been running it into a powered PA speaker to hear just how it performs through something that's as close to "flat" or full-spectrum as possible. Nuts, truly nuts.
I was playing an American Standard Jazz through it and although I fully respect J basses, I am far more of a P Bass guy. There's always been something lacking for my taste from a J Bass' tone, not enough character in the mids. Anyway, with the Hellborg I don't think there's a Jazz Bass I wouldn't be overjoyed to play!
There is such an added depth of tone and richness to the sound of whatever you plug into the Hellborg. Whether the eq boosts or cuts are mild or extreme, it remains musical. When thinking t hat the eq really isn't doing much or a kind of "meh" feeling towards it..... turn the eq off and hear the anemia of the non-eq'd tone
very fun. very addictive. VERY musical.

Ok, so here goes.
I've had the Hellborg now for 2 weeks. 2 glorious weeks and was certain to get pics and videos and tunes and.... well life gets busy, and quite frankly, the Hellborg takes control
In the course of the past 2 weeks I've had the chance to show some of my co-workers who were totally won over once they had a go at playing through it. A few customers as well had the chance to check it out.Pics? nope... Clips?? nope.... too busy talking about the pre while we were playing it!
Then I had the chance to do a couple of tracks here at home with it for a client. Used my MTD Kingston KZX 5, my fretless '80 Vantage 4 and my NS upright through it. All sounded better than they ever have. EVER.
Then on to a shoot-out that I was really happy could happen. A friend of mine is a great bassist/engineer/editor. He works with producer Joey Moi and has had a hand in recording many CDs in the past decade that have sold MILLIONS.... upon millions of copies.
So I went out to the studio he takes care of and works out of one morning to get his take on the Hellborg. We plugged in a '76 P Bass and A/B'd the Hellborg with the 'house' clean signal path. (this is where the Hellborg gets to be a bargain). My buddy was amazed that this little box sounded so close and behaved so close to the house path. The house path was the bass>custom John Vrtacic DI (https://www.vrtacicdesign.com/index.html)>Neve strip [ballpark $$ of that is around $5500-$6000]. Yes, the Hellborg totally stood its ground and delivered. The holy grail of studio gear, the Neve strip was given a massive run for its' money by the Hellborg!! This was quite fun.
So.... I finally sat down this evening to put together a bit of a clip to showcase some of what I think it does. Right.
I do have an mp3 running through a few eq boosts @ the various preset freq.s to give an idea but guys, really. A preamp like this is something you have to hear and use in person to truly appreciate it. I'd only monkey it up
It DEFINITELY is not the be all and end all preamp for the bass community. It's definitely the be all and end all for quite a few of us though. It gives clean and articulate with warmth and life like no other bass specific preamps out there. Such a musical eq that even finger noise and "gank" in a track sounds really good. The top end gives pick work great cut and presence that might even ween some "Rock" guys off of their overdrive, it's a clean grind that's soooo nice.
Sorry to be a tease and just wax poetic about it but it really is an amazing piece of gear.
Jonas, Hans Peter, kudos to you guys!! You really have made a lasting piece of gear that sets a standard and sets Warwick apart, yet again, from the pack!
