Though it does look a little like that, and it would be pretty cool, I don't think it's truly the case here. I have a big slab of purpleheart sitting in my front hall and its VERY purple. The purplish hue that shows in the neck of my bass is just a glimmer, and only in certain lighting conditions.
I should have slept last night. I'm trying everything I can to open the clip for 20min. Then I realized that I have both basses:x Still wanted to hear my man play though.
... I agree with you, never rely on soundclips when buying a bass.
Still, from an A/B you will hear the DIFFERENCE between the two of them. And this helps a lot if you know/ own one of them.
It also let you have a pretty good Idea of the bass's character, voice, especially when you hear more clips with the same bass, different players...
Mr. Gastrok, how did you get that nickname anyway? Does it have something to do with a medical term?
+1 I agree with all this...
The solution for this problem... OWN BOTH!!!!:twisted::twisted::lol::lol:
I did and loved them!! 8:
Gerry your sound clips broke my PC!! Is your playing really that good?![]()
Hey, Gerry. You're gonna have to update your signature-avatar... Although "Gastrok" is gonna be font size 72 to list all those killer basses...![]()
here's the new complete family:
Nice Family!
I wish I had one like that!!!

i find A/Bs very helpful !
the bass also looks very nice. that bubinga grain is very swirly and it's beautiful.
if you have the time, could you also do an A/B with the SSII with some slapping ?
