Dear Warwickians!!!

You are all aware of the technical issues this forum is facing for a long time now. Such a community is not easy to maintain, Warwick have now bigger issues to deal with, and running the forum is not a priority for them.

I run this forum for almost 10 years now, we had good days and bad days, but we stayed together. Even now with the big red warning, we are still here, sharing the love!

Hans Peter Wilfer decided he trusts me running this forum from now on, with respect for you and for Warwick!

I don't know how to put it... well... I kinda own the forum now :-)))

So first things I've done:
- Have a IT team ready to migrate the forum to Xenforo, and make it a perfect working forum again!
- Solved professional hosting, the forum will be rock solid from now on

Domain name:
-Since "Warwick" is a trademark name, we are not allowed to use it in our domain name.
-For SEO reasons, the name should contain "bass" at least.
-I found to be hard to find a decent name containing "Bass" and a Warwick refference (ex wwbass.com)
- Best name I could think of was "bass-arena.com" the domain is already paid, ready for the transfer.
-Even if I already paid it, and the hosting is ready with ns etc, we could still change it to a new domain if you really don't like bass-arena.com So please suggest other domain names here if you like! (check if they are available first!)

Forum destination - this is the Universal Good Vibe Zone since 2006. We are the forum, we are the community, and the love for Warwick brought us together. We will not change that, this is the Warwick forum, now - unofficial.

This is a new journey for us, and for me. The transition will not be easy, and I need all your love and support to do this!

Willing to help where I can bassbro.
We will probably need to get new addons for existing functionalities like the chatbox and thankyou plugins. Xenforo has SEO built in but I doubt the anti-spammer mods are free.

I do not know a lot about vbulletin/xenforo specific stuff but have administrated/installed phpbb and smf environments. Hoping Chris and Jeff can chime in for the tech stuff.

I built this forum's current look & feel (skin). Do not know if this can easily be ported to Xen as well.

- Xbass runs problem free for over 3 moths now. No spam! I have a team already for migration, installing, setting, maintainance.
- Skin - yeaaah buddy, if you could copy this skin to the new forum... I played a bit to xbass, it looks much easier to set, but I think it will have to be manually.
- Header - We need new header :-)
 
This is going to be a much needed move for all of us!
 
Are we bound to just Warwick or will we expand our reach to other higher end basses as well?

I don't think we can change the specific of the forum. It is simply not fair. On the other hand it was never forbidden to discuss about any other brand, and we will not start now :-)

Only the "heads up" thread should stay clear of other brands. We have the chatbox for this. Or maybe one wants to open a topic for this in the Maddrakkett's Caffe.
 
Ok news... We will not be linked from main page anymore. It doesn't matter, we will survive. I asked, and I hope we can still have a redirect from forum.warwick.de
....
 
Great news. I guess I'll never understand why Warwick doesn't want the forum affiliated with the actual company, but sometimes, going independent is the best thing. We are fortunate that HP is letting us take the forum database data! That is a great thing.

Ok, I think it is fair to ask now:
Who wants to be on the team, considering this is not Warwick Official Forum anymore, and I am not HP Wilfer? :-)
We have work to do next weeks :-)

Technical stuff- I take care of this.
Artwork - we need a nice header, logo, favicon. Who can help with that?
Skin - Di Marco, will you do that again?

I kinda liked to have a forum linked to the brand, but I stayed here because of y'all. (and bought basses, because of y'all too. )

BassArena works fine with me, although the name doesn't appeal only to Warwick Owners. It's bassically starting a new forum for all bass players ?

IMHO this should be discussed with HPW, at least to allow us to use a derivative name (like WarwickOwnersCLub, WarwickPlayersArena, Warwickians Vibe Zone... )

Or... DolphinThumbStreamerbassclub ?

Good work Florin, DiMarco and Staff, I have no skills whatsoever in IT or Internet machinery, so I can only send you good vibes.
 
Thanks Henry! Being here is what maters! Also any feedback you give after the migration will be gold for us!
- be sure you have a valid email in your account. We will probably lose all passwords during the migration, so "password reset" by mail will be necessary!
Worst case scenario - you sign in again with Fb, then I merge the two accounts.
