That just made my day for some weird reason... I've always been kinda upset I didn't start playing music when I was younger (yes I know 21 isn't old, but still) :D Oh and sorry if I offended you Lex, it's meant as a compliment :)

I have often thought the same. I did start piano at an early age which I think really helped my playing... so to me that was like the equivalent of starting bass earlier... if that makes sense...
 
I'm Patrick, 31 from Minneapolis/St.Paul, MN - I've played on and off for about 18 years - Once it was hard to get together with friends to jam with I kinda slowed down on playin' - Ever since I got my Warwick I play pretty much every day - Inspiration came highly from the sounds produced - I need to find some friends or strangers to play with again otherwise my main routines ATM are - Work on some well known funk songs, play with a drum machine, develop oringinal material and improvise with songs on the radio, Classic Rock and Jazz usually - I listen to all genres
 
Hey guys I'm Tim, 33 years old, have played for approximately....not sure couple years off and on and funny enough I am an Industrial Mechanic. I work for a large office furniture manufacturer that probably uses the very same German CnC machines that turn out all these beasts. Homag Wemhoner Weeke ....maybe I could get a CNC programme e-mailed to me? :twisted:
 
Nate, 25.7 years, experimenting with bass since about 19/20. More serious playing the last 4 years.
Still in school...computer network guru in progress. better late than never.
 
im 17 years ancient, been playing for 3/4 years ish.

im still in college but have the band and the live engineering
 
Hey, I'm Yann, living in Lyon, I'm 23 and I started playing guitar at 18 and bass at 19.

For a living, I'm a "stockman" in a big shop that sells TVs, electronic stuff, dishwashers, phones, etc... I run the stocks, and I give people what they just bought...
 
24 here... playing since 2002 i think... or was it 2001... cant remember...
 
I am 25, and have been playing on and off (read: no formal lessons) for about 8 years. For a job Im a Special Education Teacher in Massachusetts
 
I'm Bojan, currently 20 years old - playing since i'm 14, never learned any other instrument.

Just at the time i'm doing my "basic military service" at the German Bundeswehr - after i finished school this summer. After that i'm going to study ... something... :D
 
Hi there, i'm Laszlo - 27 years old, been playing bass for about 10 years, i guess. More seriously the last 3 - 4 years - up until the end of last year when i moved back home from Bucharest. Now i just play for the love of it :)
i work as a video editor / sound designer during the day and i fight crime with my bass after the sun sets - but shhh, tell no one 8)

Steve here... I'm 51!
Played acoustic guitar since I was 14 (haven't touched one for decades now). Started playing sax at 25, but started playing seriously in semi-pro bands about 10 years later. Nearly gave up the day job at one point, but decided that the day job was easier. Still consider myself as a sax player who "just happens to play bass".
Started playing bass 7 years ago, and still gigging.

The day job... I'm an auditor... sociable hours and I get to set on my fat a$$ all day!
 
i'm Callum, i'm 18...19 on 22nd of november.

I been playing bass since i was 11, and before that i played classical guitar started that when i was 7 i think.
 
I'm 17 been playing about 4 and a half years now (since I was 13) Only really started working hard at it the last few months though. I also play a bit of guitar but just to mess around with really. At the moment I'm at college at college doing a games development course then after that I'm off to university maybe... will see how it goes probably want to do 3d graphics for games or for films (e.g finding nemo etc.)

Oh yea I'v had no lessons at all as off yet and probably should soon really need to know how to read music and stuff.
 
Ancient. I'm 55, been playing music since I was 5. I joined my first band at 14, and have played ever since. I entered music school at 19, not able to read a note. I left 4 years later with a master's degree. I have a degree in electronics and worked as a musical instrument repairman for 20 years. I scored my warwicks (both mail-order brides) on Ebay almost two years ago after my other axes were stolen. I don't miss the old axes. Nowadays, I'm a technical writer. I write user manuals and online help.

I'm Mark and I'm married and 42, but still 18 at heart. Haven't convinced my body though...

I played guitar since age 13 and been in local high school bands 'Mad Racket' and 'Genghis Kahn' in the early '80s and in local Christian rock bands 'No Compromise' (we released an album titled 'Be Transformed' in 1986) and 'Relative Motion' from early '80s to late '90s.

Took a 5-year hiatus due to job schedule, then I got the itch and urge and traded all my guitar gear and switched to bass (my true instrument love) a couple years ago and play for my church right now.

I'm a delivery driver for Staples office supplies and I teach the college and career Sunday school at my church.

In the last 6 months I upgraded all my bass gear to SWR amps, boutique pedals, and of course, Warwick basses! 8)
 
Sorry, missed the bit about what do you do in the real world.

I'm a Registered Nurse, I've done Emergency/Trauma Medicine since graduating 10 years ago.

Interesting to see Jan's a Biologist, I also have a degree in biology, comparative anatomy, mostly invertebrates.
 
Gerry here, 39 for a few more weeks. Full time carpenter and home renovator. Also a personal trainer at the gym and X-Navy machienist mate on the USS. Independence cv-62.
